  1. 'Spain don't need any help!'published at 61 mins

    England 1-0 Spain

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 live

England are not making life easy for themselves. Lucy Bronze gave away possession in such a dangerous area, Spain don't need any help in gaining possession!

She put her team-mates under pressure there. Ellen White is looking tired, I wouldn't be surprised to see her coming off.

Whenever England do get the ball, they're losing it again almost immediately.

There are going to be some very tired Lionesses legs out there soon, if this continues.

  3. Postpublished at 59 mins

    England 1-0 Spain

Spain are still enjoying more than three quarters of the possession, but they've only had four shots, three of which were off target.

England are holding firm for now.

I'm no technology expert, but I'm led to believe that Radio 5 live commentary (available above) and this live text commentary uses less mobile data than other mediums, Craig.

Jordan Nobbs sends in the England free-kick towards the towering Millie Bright once again, but this time the Chelsea Ladies centre-back is penalised for a foul.

This is better from England. After controlling a high ball with a deft touch, Jordan Nobbs wins a free-kick deep in the Spain half.

  7. Stay on your feetpublished at 52 mins

    England 1-0 Spain

    Alistair Magowan

Mark Sampson is shouting at Amanda Sampedro to "get up", which draws quizzical looks from the Spain forward.

Will those "dark arts" he talked about before the game come into play in the second half?

  8. Postpublished at 51 mins

    England 1-0 Spain

As was the norm for most of the first-half, Spain are in possession, in the England half.

They look to play a through ball into Athletico Madrid's Amanda Sampedro, but it's slightly too heavy and Karen Bardsley rushes out to gather it.

  9. Scotland still have hopepublished at 49 mins

    England 1-0 Spain

To remind you then, if it stays like this, Scotland will still be in the Euros, and able to qualify for the knockout stages if they can beat Spain by a couple of goals on Thursday and hope England also beat Portugal.

But if England don't win tonight, Scotland are out, following their 2-1 loss to Portugal in the 17:00 BST kick-off.

    England 1-0 Spain

    Rachel Brown-Finnis

Mark Sampson's half-time team talk would have been that England need to believe in themselves more, impose their own style of play on Spain. We are looking for Demi Stokes and Lucy Bronze to get forwards in their usual style.

Spain's Jennifer Hermoso turns well on the edge of the England area, but Man City's Lucy Bronze is quickly there to halt her run and boot the ball clear.

The second half is coming up next. The players are out in the middle for a huddle.

  16. 'England have been pegged back'published at 20:37 British Summer Time 23 July 2017

    HT: England 1-0 Spain

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 live

Spain have dominated the ball, England will feel fortunate to be heading in ahead. Certainly Karen Bardsley has been the busier of the goalkeepers.

Spain have put England on the back foot. Jill Scott and Jade Moore are being pushed back right in front of the back four, they have been pegged back.

It is something that Mark Sampson has to address at half time. In some ways he will have expected to give up so much possession to Spain.

Rob Bulman: Glad England have the goal (and should be 2) in the bag, but they have to keep possession better than this

  18. Spain losing dominance?published at 20:34 British Summer Time 23 July 2017

    HT: England 1-0 Spain

    Alistair Magowan
    BBC Sport in Breda

Spain's threat seemed to peter out as the half drew to a close, but Mark Sampson will be concerned that his team cannot find the right out-ball after sustained defending. For all Spain's dominance, though, Karen Bardsley has rarely been troubled.

  19. HT: England 1-0 Spainpublished at 20:33 British Summer Time 23 July 2017

As it stands then, England are heading to the top of the group and Scotland are still in the tournament.

A good outcome for British football then, if it stays like this.

But an equaliser for Spain would eliminate the Scots, following their 2-1 loss to Portugal earlier today.

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 45 mins

    England 1-0 Spain

There's no stoppage time awarded, so off they go for a half-time breather.

I hope someone in the England kit team has brought plenty of dry towels.
