Whenever England do get the ball, they're losing it again almost immediately.

They look to play a through ball into Athletico Madrid's Amanda Sampedro, but it's slightly too heavy and Karen Bardsley rushes out to gather it.

To remind you then, if it stays like this, Scotland will still be in the Euros, and able to qualify for the knockout stages if they can beat Spain by a couple of goals on Thursday and hope England also beat Portugal.

But if England don't win tonight, Scotland are out, following their 2-1 loss to Portugal in the 17:00 BST kick-off.

Mark Sampson's half-time team talk would have been that England need to believe in themselves more, impose their own style of play on Spain. We are looking for Demi Stokes and Lucy Bronze to get forwards in their usual style.

Spain's Jennifer Hermoso turns well on the edge of the England area, but Man City's Lucy Bronze is quickly there to halt her run and boot the ball clear.

Spain have dominated the ball, England will feel fortunate to be heading in ahead. Certainly Karen Bardsley has been the busier of the goalkeepers.

Spain have put England on the back foot. Jill Scott and Jade Moore are being pushed back right in front of the back four, they have been pegged back.

It is something that Mark Sampson has to address at half time. In some ways he will have expected to give up so much possession to Spain.

Spain's threat seemed to peter out as the half drew to a close, but Mark Sampson will be concerned that his team cannot find the right out-ball after sustained defending. For all Spain's dominance, though, Karen Bardsley has rarely been troubled.

As it stands then, England are heading to the top of the group and Scotland are still in the tournament.

A good outcome for British football then, if it stays like this.

But an equaliser for Spain would eliminate the Scots, following their 2-1 loss to Portugal earlier today.

There's no stoppage time awarded, so off they go for a half-time breather.

I hope someone in the England kit team has brought plenty of dry towels.
