  1. CLOSE!published at 19:56 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2017

    Tottenham 0-0 Apoel

How has that stayed out?! Fernando Llorente heads a free-kick across, the keeper can only palm it out and Davinson Sanchez and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou are both there. One of you!

Sanchez eventually shoots but it somehow pings to safety off the face of Jesus Rueda on the line.

  2. CLOSE!published at 19:54 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2017

    Shakhtar Donetsk 0-0 Manchester City

The hosts nearly squeeze into the lead! Fernandinho has to make a fine block to prevent Facundo Ferreyra from hooking in. Uncertainty in that much-changed City side.

    Tottenham 0-0 Apoel

Spurs go direct to the big man and Fernando Llorente does well to head down towards Son, he can't quite get a shot away though.

Liverpool fans will shout at me but it looked like an 'Anfield penalty'.

But I will take that back as I have seen it from another angle. It was a penalty.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 19:52 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2017

    Liverpool 1-0 Spartak Moscow

Liverpool will win the group if it stays like this. Mohamed Salah is just on fire this season, backheeling into Roberto Firmino but his cross is cleared.

Emre Can is then high and late and is booked - he'll miss the first leg of the next round (Liverpool will hope.)

    Shakhtar Donetsk 0-0 Manchester City

First real shot of the night as Shakhtar captain Taison blasts over from 25 yards. That was never troubling Ederson.

A stutter, a shake, and skipper Philippe Coutinho steers the penalty home into the corner.

    Wonderful start for Liverpool.

  8. PENALTY LIVERPOOLpublished at 19:49 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2017

    Liverpool 0-0 Spartak Moscow

What a start, Mo Salah is wrestled to the floor and that's clear cut...

  9. CLOSE!published at 19:48 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2017

    Tottenham 0-0 Apoel

First shot of the night at Wembley and it's a decent one too, Serge Aurier slamming a low shot just wide from about 20 yards, Son then shoots wide too.

  10. Liverpool need to learn to defendpublished at 19:48 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2017

    Liverpool 0-0 Spartak Moscow

    Pat Nevin
Ex-Chelsea winger on Radio 5 live

On what will happen if Liverpool fail to progress to the Champions League knock-out stages tonight:

Everyone would say you’re so good going forward and scoring goals but you have to learn to defend – that has been their weakness.

At some point you need to learn how to defend. There was a naivety from Liverpool in Seville.

Some of those questions will be asked if Liverpool don't get through tonight

    But I believe they will.

Tottenham v Apoel Nicosia (19:45 GMT)

As you'd expect it's far from a full house at Wembley. The only thing at stake is whether Apoel can pip Dortmund for a place in the Europa League.

  14. Liverpool will want to start on the front footpublished at 19:41 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2017

Liverpool v Spartak Moscow (19:45 GMT)

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger for 5 live Sport at Anfield

Liverpool will be thinking 'let's just get on with it'.

They’ll be thinking about getting out there and being on the front foot and getting that early goal.

If the game goes on and it’s still 0-0, Liverpool have a (tendency) to drop off.

That first 20 minutes will be crucial for them tonight.

  16. Chelsea old boy Moraispublished at 19:40 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2017

    Tottenham v Apoel (19:45GMT)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Wembley

Given the multi-national nature of the Premier League, it is not often a team has no players who have never appeared in it.

    Apoel have one.

Captain Nuno Morais signed for the Blues as a 20-year-old in 2004. He played in a league fixture at Manchester United that same season.

However, it was one of only nine Chelsea appearances for the former Portugal Under-21 international before he joined Apoel on a free transfer in 2007.

  19. 'We respect the competition'published at 19:36 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2017

Shakhtar Donetsk v Manchester City (19:45 GMT)

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been talking to BT Sport. He said: "We respect the opponents, we have some absences through my decisions like Kyle (Walker) and Nico (Otamendi). We came here to win the game with the players we have and we respect the competition.

"Shakhtar has been the best team in Ukraine for the last decade, I came here with Barcelona and Bayern and it was always so, so tough. They have a lot of talent, Brazilian players and their manager will be one of the best in the future. We have to do the right things."

On his 100th game as manager in the Champions League, he added: "It is good, it means a lot, it is a lot of games."

On David Silva's chances of being fit for the Manchester derby on Sunday, Guardiola said: "I spoke with the doctors, it is positive how David has reacted in the past few days."

Liverpool threw away a lead in Sevilla to ensure that qualification comes down to tonight's game.

Jurgen Klopp's side have dropped 10 points from winning positions in the League or Champions League this season.
