Roy Hodgson arrived at Selhurst Park at 10:50 BST this morning.

The former England manager was in high demand as he stopped for about 20 selfies and signed several autographs before making his way down the tunnel.

His last game as a Premier League manager saw his West Brom side lose 3 -2 to Arsenal at The Hawthorns. Can his Palace side get the three points they need at home to Southampton today?

Tom McQuillin: I waited a long time to see Spurs win at Wembley...

Jamie Walker: Bolton being in a transfer embargo for 630 days. Don't know yet if it was worth waiting to get out of the thing.

Leighton: Bryan Robson returning to the Baggies as manager. Mixed blessings but he did give me the most exciting last day of the season I can remember.

Given Roy Hodgson has waited 52 years to return to Crystal Palace, we want to know what you've waited a long time for in football and if it was worth it?

It's around this time each week where you need to finalise your fantasy football team.

Are you one of many kicking the cat this morning because you forgot the deadline moved to Friday this week? Yep, that's tough to take.

  4. Big day for Baz...published at 11:20 British Summer Time 16 September 2017

West Brom v West Ham (15:00 BST)

    Gareth BarryImage source, Getty Images

Here is Gareth Barry way back when. Today he can make Premier League appearance number 632 - a mark which would equal the record held by Ryan Giggs.

Remarkably in the modern game, he's represented just four clubs, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Everton and now West Brom. His goal haul for each has gone from 52 at Villa, to 8 at City, 5 at Everton and none yet for the Baggies. Whatever happened to that sweet left peg?

He could do with chipping in as Tony Pulis' side have scored just eight times in their last 13 league games. For a full preview of their meeting with West Ham, click here.

    BilicImage source, .

From Anfield to the Hawthorns, where West Ham - who seem to love a long ball - face West Brom and Tony Pulis - who is often labelled as a long ball man himself.

    Long balls all around then?

The Hammers went long against Huddersfield to earn a first win of the season on Monday.

BBC Radio 5 live pundit Jermaine Jenas said: "I am pretty sure that if this is how it is going to be moving forward, then Bilic's job is still at risk because it was not pretty and it is not something that West Ham fans are going to want to watch for the rest of the season."

For a full look into the issues facing Bilic, take a look at this Chris Bevan article.

  6. Karius a problem - predictionspublished at 11:05 British Summer Time 16 September 2017

    Liverpool v Burnley (15:00 BST)

    Mark Lawrenson
    Former Liverpool defender

I am not sure what is going on with the goalkeeper situation at Liverpool but Simon Mignolet should play for them against Burnley.

If Loris Karius is picked instead, then I think the Clarets will be licking their lips and looking to put a lot of balls into the box, because Karius is not very convincing when it comes to dealing with them.

Liverpool's attacking talent still means they should win this game comfortably but they will have to be on their toes at the back, and be much more solid defensively than they have been of late.

  7. 'Reds philosophy an issue'published at 11:02 British Summer Time 16 September 2017

    Liverpool v Burnley (15:00 BST)

    Owen Hargreaves

    KloppImage source, Getty Images

The philosophy at Liverpool is the issue. If Franco Baresi or Paolo Maldini was there, they would want the central midfielders or full-backs closer to them. Virgil van Dijk is not going to fix Liverpool. I don’t care what team you are, your defence needs protection.

If you are a fan of football, you love how Jurgen Klopp plays, they love the press and possession. You can counter that by playing the ball over the top. Modify the tactics, play with a sweeper. When you play against Liverpool, put the ball over the top and you negate the press.

Naby Keita is a very special player, he has been terrific in the Bundesliga with Leipzig and will be a wonderful signing. He is a massive upgrade for them. Liverpool’s central midfielders are too attacking. They need two sitting in front of the back four and let the other four attack.

  8. Unfair criticism?published at 11:01 British Summer Time 16 September 2017

    Liverpool v Burnley (15:00 BST)

    KvarmeImage source, Getty Images

Much has been made of Liverpool's at-times shambolic defence. Ragnar Klavan as we know can summon memories of Bjorn Tore Kvarme (pictured) while Dejan Lovren is either a beast or bundling mess.

But are we being unfair? Did you know that a shutout against Burnley today would equal the club's Premier League record of five consecutive clean sheets at home, set 10 years ago.

Burnley, though, arrive with a win at Chelsea and draw at Tottenham to show for their away fixtures this season. Safe to say they like a challenge.

Can they get at Liverpool? BBC Radio 5 live pundit Owen Hargreaves seems to think so. More on that next....

    Fantasy Football focus

    Fantasy FootballImage source, Premier League

The two most popular midfielders in the Premier League's official Fantasy Football game - Sadio Mane and Paul Pogba - are of course now out of action through suspension and injury respectively. Over 400,000 players from the 4.9m in the game had both in their team.

Around 1.8m teams had Pogba selected. So how do you play things now? Use the wildcard? I've gone for Stoke's Jean-Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Mohamed Salah as replacements, freeing up some cash in the process.

Interestingly, the experts at the Premier League's Fantasy Football game say Marouane Fellaini is a wise choice given his cheap price and recent good form.

Oddly, I've just been looking at the stats and Ahmed Hegazi at West Brom is the most popular defender in the game. I didn't see that one coming.

Who have you brought in? Whoever it is, good luck one and all.

The Football Focus team will no doubt take a look at Bournemouth's fine comeback win over Brighton last night.

Plenty of stories out there today. Will Gareth Barry equal Ryan Giggs' Premier League appearance record? GB could make it 632 outings in the league today.

Can Liverpool handle life without the suspended Sadio Mane?

And, crucially, how many attempts will I need to spell the name of Stoke's Jean-Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting correctly?

The 70-year-old says: "I always felt I could do a good job, can still contribute, so if a position came along at the right level, I wanted to take it. This is it.”

Hodgson is the first Premier League manager to be appointed after turning 70.

Wayne Rooney's current boss is a big focus in the papers. Ronald Koeman's Everton were dire against Tottenham last weekend and Atalanta in midweek, shipping six goals without reply across the two games. They also lost 2-0 to Chelsea prior to that.

Koeman has apparently held talks with senior players, external since Thursday and went in hard on them.

Did you know Everton have only had seven shots on target in the league this season - a Premier League low. For more stats, check out the preview for their trip to Manchester United.

Mourinho believes England's top tier is now "much more defensive minded, and much more difficult."

As promised, let's get to the papers quickly. The Independent has quotes from Mauricio Pochettino stating he thinks Harry Kane saved his job at Tottenham with a last minute goal at Aston Villa a few years ago.

The rest as they say is history, though not much history as Spurs haven't won a carrot under Poch yet.

They entertain Swansea this evening and you can read a full preview here. Amazingly, the preview states Kane has 80 goals in 120 league games. Only one man has a better rate. Guess who?

Speaking of mascots, I'm a little surprised no club threw in a cheeky bid for Hero - the World Athletics Championship's fluffy entertainer.

Hero had his game on point and the fans loved him. I'm sure he could come in and do a job for someone. January could be his time, when a chairman pushes the panic button somewhere. At the end of the day he's a proven performer, you know what you're getting, like Big Sam or Tony P in a relegation scrap.
