So welcome to Saturday morning, that special time of the week where you feel excitement, hope, belief, fear and many other emotions as you look forward to the game. As we know all too well, tonight you'll either toast your joyous club or bemoan the manager, chairman and club mascot for being utterly useless.

This live text will be one of hope. We'll cover off the newspapers, fantasy football, manager quotes, predictions and more. And of course, we want your input so tweet me on #bbcfootball.

    Welcome to Saturday football

One thing I do love about Roy Hodgson is his ability to pull an array of faces.

Over his 70 years he has developed a skin which just naturally adapts to his emotion, giving away every strain, while making every moment of joy scream from his being.

And the great news is he's back. Football's great fairground ride brings the former (insert one of several million clubs here) manager back into our lives.

Life at Crystal Palace begins competitively today. So let's all pull our favourite Roy Hodgson face and get down to it...

    Good morning to you all.
