    Everton 2-1 Bournemouth

Everton manager Ronaldo Koeman: "It is a totally different world after winning. You have key moments during the season and this was a big win that will give everyone a boost.

"It was a difficult game, we did not create many chances and we took the right decision after 1-0 down to try something different - play two strikers and go more direct.

"More credit to the players - Niasse and Davies. They did a good job after a difficult time."

Putting aside the points reward, some wins are more important than others. Yesterday's victory over Bournemouth was a biggy for Everton.

1-0 down just after half-time, Ronald Koeman was probably fearing some tough questions post-match. Thankfully, the previously maligned Oumar Niasse came off the bench and to the rescue with a double.

One other significant talking point from the game was Wayne Rooney being denied a penalty after being caught by an elbow from Simon Francis that drew blood.

  6. 'Spurs finishing clinical'published at 14:26 British Summer Time 24 September 2017

    West Ham 2-3 Tottenham

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic, talking to BBC Sport: "We are disappointed with the result. We started really well. We defended well, with shape and didn't give them pockets of space. Before the first goal we had lots of attacking opportunities but we didn't use it. Then we make a mistake and their finish was clinical. The first half was nowhere near 2-0.

"We came back and after the red card we pressed them. In the end we came to 3-2 but there wasn't enough. The game was very hectic with fouls and time-wasting. We showed good pride to come back.

"When you play against the top teams, you give a little and from that little they create a chance and score.

"It was very even at 0-0. It is very hard to come back after 2-0."

  8. 'When Kane hits a ball, it stays hit'published at 14:20 British Summer Time 24 September 2017

    West Ham 2-3 Spurs

    Guy Mowbray
    BBC commentator on MOTD2 Extra

There can't be many strikers in the world with Harry Kane's accuracy. When he hits a ball, it stays hit. The way he works with Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen is brilliant. Serge Aurier looks better than Kieran Trippier at right-back.

What impressed me about Spurs is that - at 3-1 up and with 10 men - a few years ago, it would have been 3-3. It showed they have a bit of mettle about them.

  9. Up there with Messi and Lewandowskipublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 24 September 2017

    West Ham 2-3 Tottenham

    Joleon Lescott
Former England defender on BBC MOTD2 Extra

I didn't see Harry Kane's record until yesterday but it is ridiculous. He is between Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski (in terms of how prolific he is). All respect to Tottenham, but they are not Barcelona or Bayern Munich so for Kane to do that at such a young age is outstanding.

His technique, taking shots early... I have worked with Jermain Defoe and he is one of the best finishers I have worked with. Kane is like that.

  10. 'Bilic will be OK'published at 14:09 British Summer Time 24 September 2017

    West Ham 2-3 Tottenham

    Guy Mowbray
Match of the Day commentator on MOTD2 Extra

It was a great atmosphere right from the start on Saturday and there was a great roar at the end.

I did hear any jeering or cat calling, West Ham were applauded off at the end.

I would be very, very surprised if anything happened soon with Slaven Bilic. Yes, results have to improve but I don't think there is all that much wrong with the club.

The only way I would say the heat is on, is that they have a run of games now where you would say they will get a decent haul of points from those. If that doesn't happen then it could be something to look at.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino: "Sometimes it is good to suffer a bit as it means you are alive.

What to focus on at the London Stadium?

Harry Kane, sure. Another two goals. Like Poch I'm all out of superlatives for the striker.

West Ham's woes, yeah. Another defeat, a bit of a 'mare from Andy Carroll. Showed some fight, though.

Serge Aurier's red card, probably. First yellow arguable, second yellow foolish.

    Stoke 0-4 Chelsea

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes: "They will be delighted with a 4-0 score. It has flattered them somewhat.

"We made too many mistakes against a team who can exploit that. Defensive errors took it away from us.

"We were tested a little bit when it comes to personnel. Today we were missing five centre-backs. Circumstances meant that we weren't getting anything out of it."

  17. 'Morata doesn't need Costa's edge'published at 13:41 British Summer Time 24 September 2017

    Stoke City 0-4 Chelsea

    Joleon Lescott
Former England defender on BBC MOTD2 Extra

On whether Chelsea will miss Diego Costa's attitude

I'm not sure Alvaro Morata needs that if he's scoring goals. Yesterday he picked the up at the halfway line, ran and just put it in the goal. That's the kind of goal you associated Costa with.

Morata has played for Real Madrid, one of the biggest teams in the world with a lot of pressure. He's shown the pressure doesn't affect him.

Even last season when there was the speculation of Costa moving to China, he still gave 100%. What Alvaro Morata is doing, he's an exceptional talent,

  18. 'It is not all about Morata'published at 13:39 British Summer Time 24 September 2017

    Stoke 0-4 Chelsea

    Guy Mowbray
    Match of the Day commentator

I get the feeling Alvaro Morata is less of a player who has the mentality that it is all about him. Diego Costa was more like that.

It is a good news story all round with Costa. Chelsea have got some money and a new nuimber nine who is scoring goals and Costa is back at Atletico Madrid.
