    Newcastle 0-0 Brighton

With five defeats from their last five home games, Newcastle will take any opportunity they can get to score early and settle the nerves around St James' Park.

A chance does almost arise as Dwight Gayle almost slips in Christian Atsu, but the pass deflects away to safety.

Mickey Blighe: Never mind Virgil van Dijk, Dick van Dyke would've made a better clearance than Matip just did. Shocker.

Jeremy: Never mind Mignolet's errors - we need Van Dijk ASAP!

    Bournemouth 0-0 Everton

Pretty even start at Dean Court, where Ryan Fraser has just snaked a lovely cross into the Everton area but it drifts wide.

  4. CLOSE!published at 15:07 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Liverpool 0-1 Leicester

You were waiting for the net to bulge! Sadio Mane finds Mo Salah inside the area, he calmly takes a touch to set himself - but then sidefoots wide from eight yards!

    Big chance.

  5. Sloppy start for Liverpoolpublished at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Liverpool 0-1 Leicester

    BBC Radio 5 live

Former Leicester City defender & Leeds manager Simon Grayson: "Mahrez could've had a shot and took it on himself there but he did the right thing in picking out Jamie Vardy.

"Fantastic play from Leicester but a sloppy start for Liverpool."

  6. Awful defending from Liverpoolpublished at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Liverpool 0-1 Leicester

    Matthew Upson
Former England defender on Final Score

It was awful defending. Joel Matip's just put a really weak, loose ball into midfield, it's been intercepted, a few quick passes and it's a goal. It's not what Matip will want with Virgil Van Dijk sitting in the stands - he'll have wanted to put a good performance on today - to show he's worth his place in the team.

  7. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Watford 0-0 Swansea

What a strike! Jordan Ayew brings the ball forwards for Swansea, he has two or three looks up to find a pass but has little on so shoots from a good 30 yards, Heurelho Gomes doesn't even move and the ball pings off the top of the bar!

  8. Postpublished at 15:05 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Huddersfield 0-0 Burnley

Once again the Huddersfield fans are in fine voice. Not too much in the way of early chances. Burnley had a free-kick but Jonas Lossl was off his line quickly to punch clear.

Rumel Miah: Who’s to say Salah won’t finish above Kane in the scoring charts for this season? Four goals for my Egyptian Messi today!

The Terminator: Liverpool really need to win today! I will be a very angry man if we don't and Karius makes a mistake.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:04 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Watford 0-0 Swansea

The tricky Richarlison is chopped down by Federico Fernandez, and we have a very early booking for Swansea.

  12. goal

GOAL - Chelsea 1-0 Stokepublished at 15:03 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Antonio Rudiger (3 mins)

Looks like this is going to be a long, long afternoon for Stoke.

Willian pings a free-kick into the area and Antonio Rudiger rises higher than the three defenders around him to nod in from close range. So simple.

  13. goal

GOAL - Liverpool 0-1 Leicesterpublished at 15:02 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Jamie Vardy (3 mins)

He LOVES a goal against a 'big' side! What a start for Leicester.

Dreadful from Joel Matip, who plays out from the back and is dispossessed, the ball is played through to Riyad Mahrez, and he has the presence of mind to square it for a tap in for Jamie Vardy. So easy!

  14. Postpublished at 15:02 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Liverpool 0-0 Leicester

Early sign of intent from Leicester on the break as Demarai Gray wriggles into the penalty area and almost finds Riyad Mahrez in space - the pass is just cut out though.

  15. Postpublished at 15:01 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Chelsea 0-0 Stoke

Chelsea up and at Stoke from the off, winning an early corner. Willian swings it in but the visitors clear. Stoke could be doing quite a lot of that in this game.

Johnny Magrinho: Don’t really know why everyone is fixating on Karius being brought in for Mignolet. They’re as good as each other with or without a run of games. I'm more concerned with the Ox not being given a start when he’s looked quality in the last couple of games he’s played.

Stevey: It's not Mignolet dropped, it's called rotation!
