Graham Green: The way Newcastle and Stoke are playing today, their New Year’s Day match is shaping up to be truly appalling.

Steven: Liverpool are consistently inconsistent. Can showing why leaving Liverpool is such an underwhelming issue.

    Huddersfield 0-0 Burnley

Chances at both ends just before the break as Collin Quaner just fails to get to Rajiv van la Parra's through ball before Ashley Barnes' shot is blocked at the other end.

The whistle then goes for half-time.

The play just isn’t tight enough from Liverpool right now. There’s too many gaps, too many sloppy passes. They should be winning but they won’t be unless they tidy up their play.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Liverpool 0-1 Leicester

A strange half for Liverpool, who were generally excellent to watch but also trail to Jamie Vardy's early goal.

    Newcastle 0-0 Brighton

  8. Postpublished at 15:44 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Watford 1-0 Swansea

You said it, not me Stuart. Watford go close again as the equally impressive this season Abdoulaye Doucoure sweeps a shot wide from 22 yards out.

Probably fair to say Huddersfield fans will take a goalless draw at half time. Their side has been second best all over the pitch, Burnley have largely had them pegged back inside their own half.

A couple of minutes to go until the break.

Does anyone think Watford will hold onto Richarlison in January? He has been the centre of everything for them this season.

  11. Harry Maguire 'outstanding'published at 15:42 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Liverpool 0-1 Leicester

    BBC Radio 5 live

Former Leicester defender & Leeds manager Simon Grayson: "He's been outstanding today, Harry Maguire. He's very calm on the ball and he's made blocks when he needs to. I'd be very pleased with him if I was his manager."

  12. SUBSTITUTION - King injuredpublished at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Bournemouth 1-0 Everton

Joshua King, who made the Bournemouth goal, is off and on comes Benik Afobe. I presume the lively King picked up an injury.

  13. Postpublished at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

Not a lot to report at St James' Park. The home fans are starting to get a little restless as half-time approaches.

Tim Somers: Can and Milner could possibly be the slowest midfield pairing in Premier League history.

Mark Taylor: Liverpool do not have a divine right to score, defenders and keepers are supposed to block shots, stop moaning.

JMG: For 75 million, we could have bought the Burnley backline instead of Van Dijk, They have defensive organization and discipline. Something Liverpool really lack.

  15. Postpublished at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Watford 1-0 Swansea

Rubbish! Dear oh dear. Renato Sanches has been given a recall by new Swans boss Carlos Carvalhal today but he is having another shocker.

His latest misdemeanor is a free-kick from wide which ends up about eight rows back in the stand.

  16. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Chelsea 3-0 Stoke

Now then. Stoke showed no attacking intent for 30 minutes but the one moment they do, they have the ball in the back of the net.

Mame Biram Diuof latches onto a long ball forward before stabbing beyond Thibaut Courtois. His celebrations are cut short by the linesman's flag. Offside? He certainly did not look it.

Callum Hayes: The Stoke players have definitely stopped playing for Mark Hughes now. They should all chip in for his compensation fee.

Chris Fleming: That’s Hughes gone then. New manager for the new year.

  18. Postpublished at 15:38 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

Another chance for the excellent Richarlison as he heads powerfully at Lukasz Fabianski. He makes things happen this boy!

  19. Postpublished at 15:36 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Bournemouth 1-0 Everton

No! Adam Smith has a nightmare for Bournemouth, playing at left-back today he plays a silly, blind backpass and Dominic Calvert-Lewin is on it. He hesitates though and he is eventually crowded out.

  20. Postpublished at 15:36 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2017

    Huddersfield 0-0 Burnley

When Aaron Mooy doesn't play well, generally neither does the entire Huddersfield team. The Australia midfielder is yet to get into this game and as a result, the Terriers are struggling to keep hold of the ball. All Burnley.
