Alexander: West Brom will be relegated by April at this rate. Some truly desperate, despairing football being played by this team.

Mark: Southampton are now surely odds on to go down, another gutless defeat this time in a six pointer. We are in serious trouble now.

    Man City 3-1 Watford

Lovely weighted pass by David Silva for Raheem Sterling, who thumps an effort straight at Heurelho Gomes at his near post. Into the final minute.

    Man City 3-1 Watford

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

A consolation goal for Watford but it won't stop Manchester City recording their 20th win of the season.

Remarkably, they have now scored at least three in 11 of their 22 league games.

  4. Postpublished at 21:44 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Man City 3-1 Watford

Manchester City may have a two-goal lead but they are in danger of making the final few minutes more nervous than they need to be with some rather risky passes along the back. Andre Gray, buoyed by his goal, is hunting down every sniff of an opportunity.

  5. 'Llorente clearly offside'published at 21:41 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Swansea 0-2 Tottenham

    John Hartson
Former Arsenal striker on 5 Live

Swansea will rue the fact it took them 35-40 minutes to get going, they admired Spurs and you can't give teams like Spurs that much respect. You have to get amongst them but that's not what Swansea did in the first half.

Spurs will consider this a really good win on the road. Llorente's goal was clearly offside but then a great ball from Harry Kane for Dele Alli's goal settles it.

    Andre Gray (82 mins)

    A consolation for the visitors.

Andre Gray taps a cross in from close range and the travelling Watford fans go wild. They are happy to celebrate anything after a pretty miserable journey up north.

    Andy Carroll (90 mins)

    And that's his second!

Andy Carroll surely seals victory for West Ham as he blasts in at the far post after Marko Arnautovic's cross had drifted through to him.

Fair to say the West Ham social media person got a bit excited about that goal...

I might be on my own here, but personally as a fan I enjoy these congested Premier League fixtures. Most top-flight teams have massive squads with players that deserve a chance but wouldn’t otherwise get a start, especially youngsters. For me, seeing them is exciting.

    Simon Stone

The rain seems to have momentarily slowed down Pep Guardiola's normally rapid arm movements.

When Yaya Toure was waiting to come on before, it was rather amusing to watch Guardiola deliver his final instructions under a hood that seemed slightly too big for him so as he was looking up, it virtually covered his eyes.

In truth, he doesn't need to do much here.

City have been heading for victory since Raheem Sterling's 38-second opener.

    Dele Alli (90 mins)

Harry Kane kicks off 2018 with an assist, playing a superb cross field pass for Dele Alli, who gets in-between the Swansea defence and shoots early. His first effort is blocked by Lukasz Fabianski but he then knees in the rebound.

Which way is this one going to go? It's even with a touch under five minutes to go.

Gareth Barry, who originally had the night off before Matt Phillips picked up an injury in the warm up, is on for Claudio Yacob.

James McArthur has scored five goals in all competitions for Crystal Palace this season to equal his best haul in a single season in English football having reached the same mark in 2016-17.

Into the final nine minutes at Swansea. A decent opportunity for Tottenham to avoid a nervy finish as Son Heung-min meets a Kieran Trippier cross but puts his volley wide.

    Luka Milivojevic (80 mins)

    Goals flying in!

This may be the pick of the bunch as Luka Milivojevic curls an absolute peach of a strike into the back of the net from 25 yards.

One to watch out on Match of the Day tonight. Belter.

    Sergio Aguero (63 mins)

    No way back for Watford.

Sergio Aguero may have missed a couple of easy chances but you just felt he was going to put one away eventually and so he does as he slides in to turn home the loose ball after Heurelho Gomes parried a cross.

    West Ham 1-1 West Brom

Oliver Burke is still waiting for his first Premier League goal for West Brom but he has a great chance to get it in this game.

Salomon Rondon puts a great ball over the top for Burke to chase, he's through on goal but Angelo Ogbonna tracks back well to shrug Burke off the ball and clear.
