    Man City 2-0 Watford

Against Manchester City, you have to make the most of the few chances you get and this is a good one for Watford.

Andre Gray is put through on goal, he shoots low and hard from just inside the box but it is too close to Ederson, who pushes the ball behind for a corner.

Shane Long's goal ended a run of 1,320 minutes without scoring in the Premier League, since doing so against Sunderland in February 2017.

    Southampton 1-0 Crystal Palace

Southampton have won all seven of their previous Premier League meetings with Crystal Palace and Jack Stephens makes a vital block to prevent Wilfried Zaha from equalising. Just a couple of minutes to go until the break.

  4. Have a good evening?published at 20:26 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Man City 2-0 Watford

You have to feel sorry for the Watford fans, especially those at the front of the visitors' section.

Fans local to Watford have embarked on a near 380-mile round trip, the rain is sweeping into the front few rows, roadworks on the M6 means at least 15 miles on their way home will be subject to a 50mph speed limit - and they were 2-0 down after 15 minutes.

Is it any wonder some people don't understand football supporters.

Raheem Sterling celebrates scoring against Watford

At 38 seconds, Raheem Sterling's goal is the fastest scored in the Premier League this season, and the third fastest scored by Manchester City in Premier League history.

  6. Postpublished at 20:26 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    West Ham 0-1 West Brom

Manuel Lanzini has been West Ham's most lively player so far and he draws a fine save out of Ben Foster, bringing the ball under control inside the area before hitting a fierce effort towards the corner, but Foster flings himself across to keep the score at 1-0.

  7. Saints look widepublished at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Southampton 1-0 Crystal Palace

    Wide areasImage source, .

Southampton continue to use the wide areas, particularly right-back Jeremy Pied and left-back Ryan Bertrand. The fact their two full-backs are getting up the field is giving Saints a better shape than the visitors.

Pied is playing just his second league game of the season but he looks bang up for it. He's shaken off a knock and just landed on his neck after winning a header, only to get up and get on with it. No nonsense, you have to like that spirit.

Chris: This Swansea game is amazing. Proper old-school mud bath.

Glyn: Not sure about parking the bus, Swansea might just be able to build a moat the rate this pitch is filling up

Nick: The conditions at Swansea are as bad as they can be without the game being called off. Absolutely Dier... I'll get my coat.

We've got standing water glistening in the floodlights in certain parts of the pitch. The ball has held up a couple of times and the officials will have to keep an eye it. It's okay at the moment but the rain is relentless.

  10. Postpublished at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Swansea 0-1 Tottenham

This pitch is proving a bit of a leveller and Tottenham will not feel comfortable while there is just one goal in it.

Ranato Sanches goes close to equalising for the hosts but curls his free-kick just over the bar. Decent effort.

  11. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Man City 2-0 Watford

Heurelho Gomes denies a third for Manchester City with an excellent save, tipping Kevin de Bruyne's free-kick onto the crossbar.

Only 20 minutes into this one and City could be 4-0 up.

Jeff: As a Watford fan there’s currently one team I don’t care what the score becomes and that’s Man City. It’s different football to the rest of the Premier League and as such I don’t think it really matters what the score is. I’ve got £2 on 6-1 to MCFC - not quite certain where I see that goal coming from but you live in hope...

Dan: Watford are bang in trouble. Surely an outside bet for relegation? They look woeful.

GOAL - West Ham 0-1 West Brompublished at 20:16 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    James McClean (30 mins)

No goals in the first 45 minutes of last night's Premier League games but we've got at least a goal everywhere now as West Brom get in on the act.

James McClean runs from just inside the West Ham half to the edge of the area, where he goes for goal and his strike loops over Adrian with the help of a hefty deflection.

    Christian Kabasele OG (13 mins)

A colleague of mine, while watching his Oxford United side get thumped 7-0 by Wigan, suggested teams should be able to call time on a game early when it's clear who's going to win. There may soon be a case for that in this game.

Kevin de Bruyne crosses low for Sergio Aguero and Christian Kabasele's slices his attempted clearance into his own net.

  15. 'Playground football'published at 20:12 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Swansea 0-1 Tottenham

    John Hartson
Former Arsenal striker on 5 Live

I can remember Swansea City playing like this themselves, playing teams off the park and Spurs are doing exactly that to them so far. It's keep-ball so far, playground football, with 21-year-old's playing against 11-year-old's in terms of keeping hold of the ball.

They're so dominant it's actually hard to believe.

  16. Saints injury worry...published at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Southampton 1-0 Crystal Palace

    SouthamptonImage source, .

Southampton probably deserve their lead with Shane Long going close early on and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg also bringing a save before Long struck.

Saints are getting their full-backs involved with both Pied and Ryan Bertrand the busiest men on the pitch with 27 touches apiece.

Pied is hobbling a bit and may need to be replaced at this rate. He's made the goal of course so even if his night ends early it has not been all bad.

  17. Rain, rain go awaypublished at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    West Ham 0-0 West Brom

    Alistair Bruce-Ball
    BBC Radio 5 live

You can sense the tension out on the pitch and in the stands here at the London Stadium and both teams look anxious.

Manuel Lanzini looks like the man most likely to make something happen for West Ham, as has been the case this season and he's already had one shot blocked and one powerful drive well saved by Ben Foster.

It's absolutely teeming with rain - Alan Pardew and David Moyes have both opted for the hood-up approach in their club coats on the touchline.

  18. Postpublished at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    Swansea 0-1 Tottenham

I can't remember the last time a Premier League fixture got abandoned but the conditions are truly terrible at Swansea. Standing water on the pitch, ball barely going anywhere.

Tottenham are on top but's a real slog.

  19. CLOSE!published at 20:09 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2018

    West Ham 0-0 West Brom

Just waiting for a goal at West Ham but it's not for the want of trying, Manuel Lanzini's rocket of a shot is straight at Ben Foster for the Hammers before Andy Carroll curls an effort wide from 20 yards.

You have to pay quite a lot to sit in the exclusive 'tunnel club' at Manchester City.

However, as with corporate seats the world over, clients tend to enjoy hospitality until the last possible moment.

It meant quite a few supporters were still taking their seats when Raheem Sterling scored just then.
