Good news tonight as Seamus Coleman has made his Everton return 10 months after having surgery on a double leg-break.

The Republic of Ireland full-back, 29, suffered tibia and fibula fractures in his right leg following a bad challenge from Wales' Neil Taylor in a World Cup qualifier on 24 March 2017.

Taylor was sent-off and later banned for the tackle.

Coleman, who only returned to training earlier this month, played 58 minutes for the Everton Under-23's on Tuesday.

Bristol City boss Lee Johnson: "We came close to a draw today. They are a top, top side, probably the best side I've seen live.

"They have so many players that are intricate and have class on the ball and sometimes you have to hold your hands up and say 'they are a better side than us'.

"But the spirit we showed, we never gave in and we continued to try and attack and scored two goals and not many teams can score two goals against a side like that.

"It's a good lesson for the boys and I think we'll take that into the Championship. It's a positive lesson and we're a good side in the Championship and now we'll get to focus on the league and it will be a really good run in until the end of the season."

More from Pep Guardiola: "We are so happy to be in the final. We played amazing in the first half.

"After we lost control, maybe it will be good for us, for the Champions League against Basel, to learn that anything can happen and you have to play for 90 minutes."

Kevin de Bruyne speaking on 5 Live: "The first game was difficult but I think we controlled it today. They didn't have a lot of chances and scored from two long balls. But the way they try to play is fantastic and a lot of people enjoy that type of football.

"Today we showed them we are ready to go to Wembley, to do our thing, and we're very happy with how we performed.

"I came here to win finals, and we will go there and try to win again. I'm very excited about it. They call it the littlest trophy of the year but everything you can take you will take. We've had a good season so far but now the big games are coming and hopefully we can keep up the intensity and the quality."

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on Sky Sports: "We are so happy to be there, to reach this final. We played an amazing game until 2-0 and then we lost control, these type of games never end until the end. This is a lesson for next weekend in Cardiff in the FA Cup and especially for the Champions League.

"At 2-0 we knew it would be easier because they needed three or four goals but with one minute left it was 2-2 and anything could happen.

"It's not for me, it's for Manchester City, a club who are trying to reach another level. We try to keep going, the important thing for me is to be there. We try to keep going in the FA Cup, in the Prenier League.

"I know that we will be judged by trophies we win but we are so happy. Nobody can take away what we have done, but Chelsea or Arsenal are strong teams."

One of the Bristol City goalscorers, Marlon Pack, speaking to 5 Live: "We can all be pleased with our effort and endeavour. We pushed all the way and stuck to our guns. We didn't change for them and we had chances. We were unlucky not to get anything but it shows our nature that we were still going in the 95th minute.

"We did ride our luck at times but we continued to play and tried to get at them. I'm proud of the boys and proud to be part of this team. Hopefully we can take this into the league now and keep it going."

Bristol City will have won plenty of friends in this cup run. They were superb against Manchester United, great at the Etihad in the first leg and while not at the same level tonight, they've still scored twice and pushed a great Manchester City team all the way.
