Kyle Walker eats up the yards down the right, intense pace from the England man and his cross in is almost an OG but Aden Flint's slice back is well saved by Luke Steele.

The attendance has just been confirmed as 26,003. Try telling any of those 26,003 who are in Red that they can't still win this!

I may well elope with that pass De Bruyne played for the second goal.

Anyone else notice that the ball clipped up off Aguero’s standing foot before he shot? Could be a new tactic!

Bristol City have shown enough in their cup run this season to suggest that they would be an excellent addition to the Premier League, in my opinion anyway. I wonder if they can make it up.

David Silva weaves into the penalty area, he has three men on him but loses them all - can't get a shot away.

Maybe the impossible might become possible! It was a looping cross and he had a long time to think about it but it was a textbook header. Bravo had no chance

What a header! John Stones makes a hash of clearing a long ball over the top, it's chipped back into the middle and Marlon Pack guides a superb header across Claudio Bravo and into the corner.

Bristol City need two more to take us to extra time, three more to go through.

David Silva, exceptional once again this evening, sees a shot blocked well by Joe Bryan on the edge of the area before Leroy Sane doesn't control a pass form Kevin de Bruyne.

I've no idea why Aguero's never made team of the year. He's an amazing striker, his goal return for City has been exceptional. If you had to buy him now, how much would his goal haul be worth?

Bobby Reid took a whack to the face by Fernandinho as they went up for a header so we've had a little stoppage. Will Pep Guardiola rest a few now?

Bristol City do now look more threatening, as sub Famara Diedhiou hits a low shot straight at Claudio Bravo. They need to score four to go through though.

Wonderful goal from Sergio Aguero, it really was. I make that 23 for the season for club and country. Are they going to miss not signing Alexis Sanchez? Not this season I don't think.

What a pass, what a finish! It was great counter-attacking, and De Bruyne's been brilliant at that all night. He burst forward then checked back onto his right foot and the pass to Aguero was inch perfect. It wasn't an easy angle for Aguero, the keeper was in a good position and the defender was closing him down but he just whipped it, with pace, into the far corner.

Bristol City have thrown their eggs into a 4-4-2 shaped basket and now it means that every time they lose the ball Manchester City look like scoring on the break. Kevin de Bruyne has a 20-yarder saved at the end of the latest wave.

It's a counter attack of absolute class. Brutally clinical.

A blue, smoking flare of some kind has landed in the Bristol City penalty area. At this point, I suspect I'm supposed to say that it's the hosts' hopes that have gone up in smoke.

    Sergio Aguero

Bedtime story read, hot water bottle filled. PUT TO BED.

Manchester City counter attack beautifully as Kevin de Bruyne plays a dreamy pass from the left to the right wing, Sergio Aguero is beyond the last defender but there doesn't appear that much danger thanks to the angle, but Aguero just laces, places the ball into the top corner from about 18 yards.

    Wonderful finish.

Bristol City have allowed Korey Smith to move into that central area. And it looks like Pep Guardiola has told his players 'go and put this tie to bed'

Good feet for a big man you say? Chelsea may be on the phone if he has a strong 45 minutes.

The play since the restart has all come from Manchester City though. Kevin de Bruyne already looks to have more space in midfield as Bristol City reshuffle.

The last time Manchester City lost a League Cup game which they had been leading was in September 2012 against Aston Villa.

But Bristol City have no choice but to go for it now. They've waited since 1989 to reach the last four of this competition.

The introduction of record signing Famara Diedhiou - only just recently back from a lengthy knee injury - is a really interesting one. He's physical and strong, yet has decent feet. It's a very different type of threat.
