Ogenyi: Nothing Gigi Buffon does surprises me anymore. Great save yet again

    Basel 0-3 Man City

Since the turn of the year, Sergio Aguero has scored 14 goals in 11 matches - no player in 2018 has netted as many across the top five European Leagues in all competitions.

Needless to say, he's not in my fantasy football team.

    Basel 0-3 Man City

    Alistair Bruce-Ball
BBC Radio 5 live at St Jakob Park

Half an hour in and you feel that this last 16 tie is already done and dusted. Vincent Kompany spoke yesterday about not showing complacency against any opponent if the dream of the quadruple is going to become a reality for Manchester City and you can see that tonight because City have been absolutely ruthless.

They've come out and stamped their authority on the game, shown the difference in class between the two sets of players and you can tell they're not going to let up either.

Great credit to the Basel fans though who have not stopped singing all game even though their team's getting a harsh lesson in Champions League football.

    Juventus 2-0 Spurs

It's Harry Kane 0-2 Gianluigi Buffon. Kane gets the ball in the box, but his shot is tipped around the post by the Italian legend. This wasn't as glorious a chance as the first header, which he probably should have scored - even against this keeper.

    Juventus 2-0 Spurs

It's almost a half-hour hat-trick from Gonzalo Higuain. It should be. Juventus tear Spurs apart on the counter, Higuain plays a one-two with Miralem Pjanic and gets the ball back inside the box. He cuts back to bamboozle two Spurs defenders, but then shoots just wide of the post from about 12 yards.

Peter: All a bit faulty for Basel, as City lead 3-0 inside half an hour...

Kolo: Death by football is how Pep wants to kill this Basel side. Pass, Pass, Pass, Pass, Pass, de Bruyne assist, golazoooo.

    Basel 0-3 Man City

Sergio Aguero has scored in all four of his Champions League away appearances so far this season for Manchester City - Dwight Yorke is the only other player to do this for an English side in the competition (for Man Utd in 1998-99).

CJ: Sorry have I missed something or are there still 70 odd minutes left in this tie for spurs to score? Hardly game over just yet! (Cue inevitable third goal).

Dave: All these negative comments about the tie being over already...does no one remember Inter Milan?! 4-3 would do nicely!

    Juventus 2-0 Spurs

    George Cummins
BBC Radio 5 live at Allianz Stadium

Remember the Newport County dossier the Welsh club prepared on Spurs?

Looks like Juventus have been reading it. "Press them quickly, close them down from the front to stop their build up play."

They have been excellent for the first 20 minutes. Allegri's bold line-up has played dividends.

That's now Higuain's fourth goal in his last four Champions League knockout matches.

    Juventus 2-0 Spurs

Christian Eriksen crosses to Harry Kane, header, six yards out. Surely a goal? Nope, not when you're up against Gianluigi Buffon, who is able to react quickly to keep the ball out.

    Please never retire Gigi.

That was Spurs' first effort on target. There's definitely life in this tie. It's no Basel v Man City.

How many goals would Manchester City need to win by today before they could feel comfortable playing a weakened team in the second leg?

    Juventus 2-0 Tottenham

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Tottenham are getting back into the game, it's opening up. Juventus are sitting back slightly maybe feeling the first 20 minutes in their legs and Tottenham are getting more space, but the final ball is letting them down.

    Sergio Aguero (23 mins)

A hat-trick for Sergio Aguero today would take him to 200 Manchester City goals. Well that's one.

Fernandinho is stopped by Leo Lacroix but the ball rolls to Aguero, who hits it into the bottom corner from 22 yards. Great finish, the goalkeeper didn't even move.

Isaac: Those hoping Harry Kane can be another Gareth Bale against Italian team are pushing their hopes too far

Francis: This is why Harry Kane will probably leave. Spurs just simply aren't a top side in Europe. He's a player that deserves to win meaningful trophies and titles.

    Juventus 2-0 Spurs

Hmmm, Spurs want a penalty now. Medhi Benatia puts his hands on Harry Kane's back and the England striker goes down. Like Basel's shout a minute ago in the other game, that could have been given too.
