Ousmane Dembele has been directly involved in nine goals in just 12 Champions League appearances (three goals, six assists).

    Quite a talent.

Andrew R: Ousmane Dembele, you have arrived! What an absolute screamer.

Nick A: There’s Messi then there is the rest. When it’s better to shoot, he scores. When it’s better to pass, he assists.

It was another mistake from Chelsea. An error initially from Cesc Fabregas, Andreas Christensen then dived in and Lionel Messi is unselfish player, a team player and he just waits for Ousmane Dembele before rolling it into his path.

Dembele hammers the ball into the roof of the net. It's a long way back for Chelsea.

You can't make mistakes like that against Bury never mind Barcelona.

All is not lost for Chelsea, though.

They claimed a 2-2 draw the last time they were here to reach the 2012 Champions League final.

They need to do the same this time.

Oh dear. Another error, punished again.

One thing you cannot, CANNOT do is give the ball away to Barcelona, especially to Lionel Messi.

The Argentine picks off Cesc Fabregas in the centre circle and Chelsea are on the back foot thereafter.

Messi reaches the edge of the box, he can have a shot himself but elects to roll the ball across to Ousmane Dembele.

Can the Frenchman grab his first Barcelona goal? He can indeed, with aplomb, riffling a strike high into the top corner.

    Mountain to climb now.

    Barcelona 1-0 Chelsea (agg: 2-1)

Chelsea are showing good speed and energy when in possession of the ball, very much in contrast to Manchester United against Sevilla on Tuesday.

Everything the Blues do is quick, quick, driving forward and popping the ball off to each other.

On this occasion, Eden Hazard is snuffed out on the edge of the box.

Young defender Andreas Christiensen has earned his breakthrough year at Chelsea and he is going to turn into a fine player.

The Dane's mistake allowed Barca's equaliser in the first leg and he is watching Luis Suarez very closely tonight.

The Uruguayan will be looking to end his long goal drought in the competition.

Jonny V: Of course this goal changed the situation for Chelsea, now they need to score 2 in order to advance, not 1 goal.

Simon G: More effort from Chelsea in the first 15 minutes, than Man United managed in both their legs v Sevilla.

Rahmath K: I really hope Jose Mourinho is watching this game.

Eden Hazard looks razor sharp on the half turn.

His link-up with Olivier Giroud acting as a focal point is helping - Hazard looks really dangerous.

  13. CLOSE!published at 12 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Chelsea (agg: 2-1)

    Excellent from Chelsea this.

Willian, from 25-yards out, forced Barcelona goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter-Stegen into the first save, low down to his right.

Although it was drilled well, it was comfortable to deal with.

Chelsea are getting a few set-pieces and have to make the most of them.

They lump one into the box, but Barcelona manage to scramble the ball clear.

Having gone up, defender Antonio Rudiger slips a shot wide from 10 yards, but he was offside anyway.

It's a really good response from Chelsea.

The goal has really woken them up. They wouldn't be playing in this aggressive manner on the front foot if they hadn't conceded.

That Lionel Messi goal is the best thing that could have happened for us neutrals.

Chelsea have to come out and try to level the contest, which will leave gaps for Barca to exploit.

The Chelsea players have not let their heads drop after conceding that early goal and are getting a spell of possession with the ball.

Key man Eden Hazard shows his brilliant balance and dribbling ability by beating three or four Barcelona players, but then Victor Moses' low cross is cut out.

Ishan K: Lionel Messi, that was quick... How many more to come?

Helles M: Not one of the best moments in the career of Thibaut Courtois. But, not a lot has changed, Chelsea need to score themselves, was true before, is true now.

Giles B: Oh dear - Thibaut Courtois won't have done his standing or valuation any good there!
