Rob: I wonder how Phillipe Countinho feels just about now?

David: Some big decisions went Liverpool’s way but City had 3 shots on target over 180 minutes. That’s why they’re out

Man City 1-2 Liverpool 1-5 agg

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

City fans are applauding their players as they make for the exits but, apart from the odd angry comment about the referee, they are understandably pretty quiet.

Meanwhile, over in the South Stand, there is a party going on as the Liverpool players go over to celebrate with their fans. "We shall not be moved" is the chant from that section of the ground.

The away fans chant Mohamed Salah's name as he is interviewed on the pitch by BT Sport.

"The goal was a good time for us because they were pressing very high," said Salah.

"I have said many times I play for the team to help the team win the games. That is the most important thing for me."

  4. 'Man City looked jaded'published at 21:39 British Summer Time 10 April 2018

Man City 1-2 Liverpool 1-5 agg

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I feared for Liverpool at the start of the game. Terrible start but they showed character. Klopp had to have got in to them at half time and told them it wasn't adequate, wasn't good enough.

Manchester City looked jaded, looked tired and Liverpool deserved the win.

All over! Liverpool are through to the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in a decade.

A brilliant first-leg performance is followed up by a very professional second leg display from Jurgen Klopp's men.

Oh my word! Hearts in mouths time as Roma keeper Alisson charges out to clear but he hits the ball straight at Ousmane Dembélé, who goes for the open goal but his shot lands just over the goal. So close.

Two minutes of time added on at the Etihad.

    Four additional minutes Stadio Olimpico.

    Tense times in Italy.

Kyle Walker pings the ball in for Gabriel Jesus but Dejan Lovren heads clear. Kevin de Bruyne then swipes at the ball, lacking any belief that his cross will come to something. There is an air of resignation about Manchester City now.

Liverpool make their chance as Mohamed Salah is replaced by Danny Ings.

Into the final minute of normal time.

Lionel Messi bundles his way through - even the most exquisite of footballers have to resort to being untidy when the pressure is on - but he doesn't get any power behind his shot and Roma survive.

Four minutes to go for them to hold on for a famous result and a place in the Champions League semi-finals.

Ash: If City don’t do something quick they’re going to lose 3 in a row this season.

Anon: I've just put the mortgage on Man Utd to win the league. City are going to lose every match until the end of the season and sack Pep. Great odds !!

  17. goal

    GOAL - Roma 3-0 Barcelona (4-4 agg)published at 21:23 British Summer Time 10 April 2018

    Kostas Manolas (83 mins)

    WHAT A COMEBACK!

Unbelievable by Roma as they complete the unlikeliest of comebacks.

Kostas Manolas flicks a brilliant header in at the far post from a corner and Roma are going through on away goals as things stand. Deservedly so too as well. What a performance by the Serie A side.

  18. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 21:22 British Summer Time 10 April 2018

  20. Postpublished at 21:21 British Summer Time 10 April 2018

What a save! Brilliant by Marc-André ter Stegen as he somehow denies Stephan El Shaarawy from close range.

That could prove to be massive for Barcelona, who have not been at the races tonight at all.
