    Uruguay 0-2 France

    Chris Sutton
Ex-Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 live

I think this French performance has been composed. It has been really impressive watching them see this game through and not panic. Fernando Muslera won't sleep for a month, maybe a year, and that will haunt him for the rest of his life.

Ticking down the clock. It's going to take something groundbreaking from here for Uruguay. They win a throw-in but it's cleared.

Look what they make you give - Cristian Rodriguez is in floods of tears as we enter the last few minutes. Completely gone. Antoine Griezmann puts a shot well over the top.

How good are the young French centre-halves, Samuel Umtiti and Raphael Varane? One v one they are good and they are so athletic and strong.

2-0 up in a World Cup quarter final with two minutes to go and you bring on the fourth most expensive player in the history of the game for the second.

On comes Ousmane Dembele for Kylian Mbappe. Strength!

I called him out at the time. Henderson and Harry Maguire made bad dives, no doubt.

Amazing how many people have criticised Neymar and Mbappe feigning injury whilst excusing Henderson Vs Colombia

There's a lot of very sad looking Uruguayans crying into their facepaint. An ugly scene. Losing in a quarter-final is never nice but especially defeats like this are hard to take. Uruguay have not really done themselves justice today - they missed Edinson Cavani massively.

Uruguay have to get better quality into the box but France are looking ominous. You can see why many people fancy them to go all the way. Belgium have issues at the back and Brazil haven't lit the tournament up.

Nobody has anything to fear from anybody else at this World Cup, it seems.

A great World Cup without a single great side?

Uruguay are gambling and Jose Gimenez is staying forward. If they are going to lose they may as well lose by three or four.

That shot from Olivier Giroud means that Samuel Umtiti is the only outfied player not to have a shot for France. Which considering they have only had 10 shots, is some going.

France send on Steven Nzonzi for Corentin Tolisso.

Silky, tremendous feet from Kylian Mbappe as he takes a horrible pass to him in, skips away from Diego Godin and has a shot blocked. Olivier Giroud slices the loose ball wide.

France look the best team in the World Cup for my money.

It looks like France may get a third on the break. Kylian Mbappe is standing out wide and he is the outlet. One ball in behind and he's away. The French are in total control and they are laying down a marker.
