Let's not forget the crucial Romelu Lukaku miss from Danny Rose's poor backpass when it was goalless, and the fantastic save from Hugo Lloris to deny the Belgium striker a minute after Harry Kane's goal and a minute before Lucas Moura made it 2-0.

The scoreline was 3-0, but United, at times, played well going forward. Defensively though, well, that's a completely different story.

If results like this hasten Mourinho's departure I am hoping for more of the same. The club is in a mess. The most disjointed United side I have seen in over twenty years.

Jose Mourinho walks on to the pitch and hugs Luke Shaw, one of the few United players to get much credit today.

He probably won't be hugging many of his other defenders. The Portuguese then applauds his home fans that have stayed until the end. Not everyone has done. Many have not.

Could he be sacked in the morning? Jose Mourinho says he has a good relationship with Ed Woodward, but if you believe that, you must have been on the vino. United fans were behind him after the Brighton game, but I'm not so sure where they stand now.

Now Alexis Sanchez, he formally of Arsenal, is very much the target for the Spurs fans. "Sanchez, Sanchez what's the score?" is now ringing around Old Trafford.

Kolo: Mourinho decides not to park the bus at home, and gets mauled by Spurs...

James: This is some reaction from the Brighton game.

Rashida: Jose will blame the weather, the day of the week and everyone in that stadium but himself for this farce.

Chris Sutton has gone big there.

"Sacked in the morning" is once again the chant from the Tottenham fans, aimed in the direction of Mourinho.

    Manchester United 0-3 Tottenham

    Chris Sutton
Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Where do Man United go from here? If they are hoping to win a title, they are not going to do it with Jose Mourinho in the dugout.

Are Manchester United the new Arsenal? You can’t argue with his record but we are living in the present, and Man United are not progressing. It is just long ball after long ball.

Another shot on target for the hosts, this time Alexis Sanchez's direct free-kick, which is over the wall and under the bar but well taken again by Hugo Lloris.

  13. SUBSTITUTION - Kane off, Winks onpublished at 89 mins

A bit later than planned, but Harry Winks does get to come on. It is Harry Kane, who started the goals off with a lovely header from Kieran Trippier's corner, who comes off.

  14. 'United are imploding'published at 89 mins

    Manchester United 0-3 Tottenham

    Chris Sutton
Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 live

United are being embarrassed by Spurs on their own patch. It is brilliant by Lucas Moura who drives at Chris Smalling too easily, and he whips the ball across David De Gea into the far corner. Credit to Spurs, they have been brilliant in the second half.

Manchester United is a club that is imploding. It happened in pre-season and everything has been negative. There is in-fighting and the manager isn't getting the best out of his players.

In the other dug out, Spurs haven't brought anyone in, but there were no complaints and they are united.

  15. What will Jose have to say?published at 88 mins

    Simon Stone

If Jose Mourinho's press conference was brief on Friday, what will it be like tonight.

Pity the poor media officer who has to direct him towards that one.

    Lucas Moura (Tottenham)

Lucas Moura has been absolutely superb and he has got two goals now. He is played in by Harry Kane and Moura turns on the afterburners to leave Chris Smalling stranded. Not even a desperate sliding lunge can stop Moura, who then calmly slots it past de Gea.

Three-nil, three points for Tottenham more Mourinho misery.
