Another chance for Manchester United and it comes from down the left wing. Luke Shaw gets to the byeline and his pull-back finds Romelu Lukaku, but the effort is a bit scuffed and Hugo Lloris dives on it gratefully.

That was awful from Danny Rose. Romelu Lukaku has got to score, he breezes past Hugo Lloris, and it's a sitter for a striker of his quality at his level. The goal was gaping but it was a horrific miss.

What a miss. And Danny Rose is the most relieved man at Old Trafford.

Rose's backpass to Hugo Lloris is far, far too weak and Romelu Lukaku gets there and goes round the advancing goalkeeper.

However, from a tight angle, but with the goal gaping, the Belgium striker slides it just wide. That should have been 1-0 to the hosts and Rose is very, very lucky indeed.

There's Christian Eriksen with a cute, clever ball over the top of the United defence, Harry Kane tries to take the ball down on his chest, but Phil Jones is well placed to clear the danger. Solid defending from the England man against the England man.

Mick: Instead of buckling up & fighting for the title, Mourinho is going to spend rest of season trying to show Woodward that he was right to demand a CB. Bailly & Lindelof have been thrown under the bus, next he will play Lukaku at CB

David: Early days yet. Mourinho changed tactics? MU taking the game to Spurs.

Wahl: I fully expect Man Utd to beat Spurs tonight. In fact, I'm willing to bet my house on it.

Plenty of action on the pitch at Old Trafford and Jose Mourinho already involved in his technical area - making notes and spinning around in a fury when referee Craig Pawson awarded a free-kick against Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho has sprung a surprise by deploying Ander Herrera on the right of a back three, none of whom have played so far this season.

Presumably the idea is that Herrera is more capable of stopping the threat of Lucas Moura, although it is interesting that Harry Kane just pulled onto the former Athletic Bilbao man just then.

One to watch.

Lucas Moura's foot was high but the United player's reaction is a little over the top and these things happen. We know Phil Jones is going to put his head in where it hurts.

And Moura is then the first man into Craig Pawson's book.

Moura, with his eyes on the ball, stretches high into the air to collect the ball and nearly takes Phil Jones' head off. Unintentional, but the high foot gets the Spurs man a yellow card.

Tottenham's Lucas Moura gets into the box but finds his shot blocked, the ball is recycled into the area and it falls for Danny Rose, but Paul Pogba is there just in time to stop the shot.

Some excellent pressing high up the pitch from Manchester United sees them win the ball back. It has been a high-intensity start from the hosts, with Spurs struggling to get their foot on the ball.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho scribbles some notes down in his notepad.

Positive start by United. It looks like Jesse Lingard is playing up top alongside Romelu Lukaku. It looks like a back three as Ander Herrera is the third centre-half with Luke Shaw and Antonio Valencia playing in wing-back roles.

A very bright start from the hosts, only an excellent sliding challenge from Jan Vertonghen stops Paul Pogba escaping down the right flank. Well-timed though from the centre-half.

Really sloppy defending by Spurs. It was one long ball by Man United and Toby Alderweireld didn't deal with that very well as he fluffed his clearance, and it was a chance for Fred.

Nearly an opening goal inside the first 20 seconds. Fred, bursting into the box, shoots at goal, but it is just past the post. Some very nervous moments for Tottenham fans there.
