This was that Kane chance. When he got to this position you just expected him to score.

Josh: Christian Eriksen belongs at the Nou Camp alongside Messi and co

Alex: Dribbling around goalkeepers isn't Harry Kane's strong point. Not exactly Lionel Messi is he?

Thomas: Kane caught in two minds there,,,should I shoot or should I dive? In the end he did none of them and the chance was gone.

  3. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:43 British Summer Time 18 September 2018

    Barcelona 1-0 PSV

There's just a little reminder of the threat PSV pose to Barcelona. The Dutch side's captain Luuk de Jong fires just over from 25 yards.

That's the last effort of the opening half at the Nou Camp.

  4. 'No reason why Spurs cannot win it'published at 18:42 British Summer Time 18 September 2018

    Inter Milan 0-0 Tottenham

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Spurs and England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

It has been quite an even game. Spurs have had the best chances but they have caused their own problems by overplaying it at the back. If they can sort that out, there is no reason why they cannot win this game.

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:41 British Summer Time 18 September 2018

    Inter Milan 0-0 Tottenham

Peeeeeeep. A poor start but better finish from Tottenham.

Harry Kane couldn't take the half's big chance.

  6. Postpublished at 18:40 British Summer Time 18 September 2018

    Barcelona 1-0 PSV

It's keep ball from Barcelona as we head to half-time.

    Inter Milan 0-0 Tottenham

Harry Kane is getting more and more of the ball. He holds the ball up, feeds it wide and then sprints into the box. Serge Aurier tries to smash a low cross in the Englishman's direction but Samir Handanovic does well to parry clear.

    Better from Spurs.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 42 mins

    Inter Milan 0-0 Tottenham

There's the difference in these two games in Group B. At the San Siro, Inter's Matteo Politano has a free-kick in an identical position to the one Lionel Messi scored from at the Nou Camp. Politano hits the wall whereas Messi found the top corner.

Davinson Sanchez is the first Spurs player to be booked for the foul to give away that free-kick.

    Inter Milan 0-0 Tottenham

    Chris Waddle

That's the best ball of the game by Christian Eriksen. The first touch was great by Harry Kane but the second touch let him down.

  10. CLOSE!published at 38 mins

    Inter Milan 0-0 Tottenham

Chance! You'd have put your house on Harry Kane scoring there! Eriksen plays a stunning chip over to the England striker and Kane's first touch is immaculate in the area. Samir Handanovic rushes out to close him down but Kane goes around the Inter keeper.

From there you're just expecting him to hit the back of the net but he doesn't get the shot away and eventually he gets his feet in a tangle and gives away a goal kick.

Both sides are giving the ball away at the San Siro. Neither team has been great in truth. Inter seem to love the big diag.

Jan Vertonghen is holding his arms out wondering how he hasn't been given a free-kick. He got a tiny nudge in the back from Radja Nainggolan inside the penalty area but the centre-back has to be stronger.

    Spurs survive.

GOAL - Barcelona 1-0 PSV Eindhovenpublished at 18:27 British Summer Time 18 September 2018

    Lionel Messi

The first goal of the Champions League 2018 and who else would it be? A brilliant free-kick from Lionel Messi.

You could just see what was going to happen once the foul was given away on the edge of the D. The Argentine curls a beautiful left-footed strike into the top corner to give Barcelona the lead.

    Some way to start.

  14. 'How long will Lamela stay in the game?published at 18:26 British Summer Time 18 September 2018

    Inter Milan 0-0 Tottenham

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Spurs and England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

I'm just wondering how long Erik Lamela will be staying in this game?

He has given the ball away more than any other player on the park, and Mauricio Pochettino is getting very frustrated with him.

  15. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Inter Milan 0-0 Tottenham

That's a much better delivery from Christian Eriksen. After hitting the first man last time he whips one in towards big centre-back Davinson Sanchez. For it moment it looks like Sanchez might have a chance of a header from six yards but he's well marshalled by the Inter defence.

    Barcelona 0-0 PSV

Two efforts from distance from Barca. First Ivan Rakitic's shot is blocked and then Sergio Roberto hits the target but it's straight at Jeroen Zoet. The Spanish champions are on top now.

    Inter Milan 0-0 Tottenham

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Spurs and England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

We all want to see nice football, but at times, you have to put your foot through the ball and get it up the field. Every time Tottenham overplay, Inter carry a threat.

  18. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Inter Milan 0-0 Tottenham

It feels like Spurs have weathered the first storm from Inter that was more threatening in the first 15 minutes. The San Siro drops silent for the first time.

As I say that, a cross comes in from the left from Perisic and Davinson Sanchez almost turns into his own net with a header. Michel Vorm gets a flappy, punch on it which drops in the area before Christian Eriksen hooks clear.

Broken sesame: What has happened to Spurs? They don't look anywhere near what they were last year!

Javel: Spurs thought they didn't need to buy in the summer. Meaning the squad don't feel under any pressure to improve. Also, it's almost impossible for *none* of 25-30 players to drop in quality.

Josh: Looking forward to a masterclass from DemPele and Sonaldinho, Spurs to win 2-0

Lionel Messi is playing out on this right flank and drifting in. It's like old-school Messi. He plays a good through-ball to Luis Suarez but the Uruguayan hits the side-netting.

PSV's Mexican Hirving Lozano, one of the stars of the World Cup, flies down the wing at the other end but over hits his cross.
