The volume of the PA announcements here is still ridiculously loud, but you could definitely hear jeers and whistles when the Chelsea team was being read out, while the Arsenal team got a much more positive reaction... each name being greeted by a cheer - I think.

By the way, the stadium is still a long way from being full, with less than 20 minutes to go until kick-off.

To make up for that, and to stop the fans who are here from making any noise themselves - imagine that? - we have had Chelsea's theme song 'Blue is the colour' blasted out of the speakers... followed by 'Right Here Right Now' which is Arsenal's song, apparently.

Has anyone got any ear plugs I can borrow?

It won't be the most spectacular window this summer, but the Gunners do have some very important business to conduct. The key question is the size of their budget.

With Europa League football, we're told it will be as low as around £40m. But with Champions League football, it will be higher. I've been led to believe that could mean up to £100m.

The higher figure would require player sales and also need to cover the salaries of signings. There's also a revenue boost that will come with Adidas taking over as Arsenal's kit supplier.

If you smother Jorginho and do it well, we know that he can't recover. If he goes out of possession in that area, you're in business, you're running straight at David Luiz and Andreas Christensen. Christensen is potentially an area of concern for Chelsea fans. He's still a young player, he's developing. Yes, he's clearly a talented boy, but I do think he's the sort of player that Aubameyang and Lacazette can get some joy against.

Is Mesut Ozil the right player to trigger that press and go after Jorginho? I would suggest no. Granit Xhaka's going to be a bit too deep and so is Lucas Torreira so you might be asking Lacazette or Aubameyang to do it. You have to set the trap, invite the ball into Jorginho, then get right in close to him.

Speaking to BT Sport, Arsenal manager Unai Emery said: "The trophy and this title is our first target. We want to enjoy it and do something in our careers with Arsenal. Our second target is the Champions League."

On Petr Cech's selection: "He has played in all of the matches in this competition. When he is playing and giving us his quality he deserves to play today also. I'm not thinking it is his last match and I want to enjoy it with him."

IF Arsenal win and make it into next season's Champions League, it doesn't mean that another English side miss out. They would have five teams in.

Here's who goes where IF Arsenal win.

Champions League: Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal

    Europa League: Manchester United, Wolves

If Chelsea win, just move Arsenal down to the Europa League pile.

I do get the idea of Uefa spreading football around and taking finals to different countries, and I also know Baku will have probably spent many months getting everything sorted.

But if the city does not have an international airport, and people cannot get there, which is the case for Blues and Gunners supporters, then what is the point of them hosting a game like this one?

It is bizarre, it really is, but the thing that really demonstrates that this is not just a bad idea but actually a mad one, is the fact that Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has decided not to travel because of security fears.

I've just been watching N'Golo Kante take part in a game of 5-a-side keep-ball (see picture below), and the good news for Chelsea fans is that not only was he running, he won the ball back three times too - and all in the first minute. If that injured knee is bothering him, he is not letting it show.

There’s an interesting atmosphere inside here. There are two pockets of Arsenal and Chelsea fans opposite us with the red and blue flags on their seats and the rest are either locals or fans from around the world supporting either club, it’s a global game now with the top Premier League sides.

As a result it’s fairly subdued at the moment.

Despite that it’s an enticing prospect and I’m surprised to see N’Golo Kante in the Chelsea XI. When he hobbled from the pitch last night here in the Olympic Stadium it looked like he was out but here he is.Will he last the 90 minutes? We shall see.

The Arsenal team emerges to warm up, given an animated welcome from their fans in the left-hand corner of the picture below. I assume they made some noise as well but the deafening volume of the PA system here (showing Chelsea's goals on the road to the final, including commentary) drowned it out completely.

If Eden Hazard performs then he will be going out in style. Whenever he plays well we don't just say 'he was solid today', he elevates the team and he excites everybody who watches the game. He's a supreme footballer.

Certain players have earned the right to make the call (to move on) and I think he's in that bracket. He's more than capable of being the main man this evening, and I don't think there'll be too many people who'll be annoyed that Hazard's going to play for Real Madrid.

Andy: After all those years playing in London, Cech must be a bit disappointed his testimonial has been booked so far away.

Tony: So, the fans who made tortuous journeys to get there are not happy with Uefa? Congrats to them - they are making sure that Uefa will have no qualms about doing it again.

Sam: Thanks for the memories Hazard. Thankful to have seen one of the greatest players of my generation play for my club. Here’s hoping he signs off with a win!

On Tuesday's training session: "I think that you were not able to understand yesterday, because if my players are very aggressive in training, I am happy. I was disappointed because we wanted to try our solutions on set pieces but after 15 minutes the cameras were there."
