If ever you want an example of one-touch midfield play, that was it. Chelsea cut through Arsenal brilliantly there.

It was slightly scuffed by Olivier Giroud but still a very good save by Petr Cech. If he needed to prove anything to his manager, he just did. It was fantastic.

Oh there's no way that the Champions League final isn't a massive anti-climax, right? How can it possibly live up to those semis?!

This game might get going by the second half. Of extra time.

David: As a Spurs fan can I wish Petr Cech all the best. His last game in the Europa League final seems a fitting way to end his career. He’s done both Arsenal and Chelsea proud and the Premier League was better for having you.

Javel: Neither side really exhibiting best-in-Europe quality. Hope it's not the two weeks of no football that's to blame, for the sake of Saturday coming.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 40 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

That is a good save from Petr Cech! Chelsea carve Arsenal open with some neat touch and move stuff, Olivier Giroud gets the ball into his arc, left-footed, hard and low from the edge of the area but Cech pushes it away.

That all came from Eden Hazard, of course.

Eden Hazard had a few more moments there and for Chelsea, they just need to get him in possession. You can see he's scaring Arsenal to death. He just hasn't seen enough of it.

Arsenal have dictated most of the game and that's how they want to continue, to keep limiting his possession. When he gets it, he's a threat, but Arsenal are probing well.

This must be what that Rugby League game at the Nou Camp was like. All a bit alien.

Suddenly the fans behind me burst into life and start chanting "Chelsea, Chelsea" following that bit of pressure from the team in blue.

Not sure where they've been until now - maybe they have only just got here?

Again Sarri has got his team wrong. He should counter their formation and play 3-5-2. The two full-backs are being outnumbered every time.

So much space out wide. Sead Kolasinac gets it on the left and puts in a cross which Kepa punches away. Kepa looks nervous.

Zeb: Looking on the bright side. This game can only get better. Surely.

Anish: I’d love to see Maitland-Niles playing as a winger next season when Bellerin comes back

Stephen: They have VAR use it. Azpilicueta pulling shirts at every chance he gets.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 34 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

GREAT is pushing it but it's the first real save of the night. Chelsea fire down their left, Eden Hazard playing in Emerson on the overlap and his drive is pushed away by a sprawling Petr Cech.

Eden Hazard then looks to dance into the area but Ainsley Maitland-Niles does well to stay with him and make the tackle. Olivier Giroud then meets a cross from the left but again the scorpion remains in his locker.

It's a really good game. N'Golo Kante looks a bit rusty but other than that, everybody's on their game.

It's opening up. Arsenal's width from wing-back is definitely the key to this game, I reckon. They are getting free every time.

Arsenal corner, Sokratis rises well but he's got two men on him and can only nod over the bar.

  16. Gunners dishevelledpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 29 May 2019

    Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

    Alan Pardew

Arsenal just got dishevelled then. Sometimes they have too many men going towards the ball, they lost their shape and there was a chance there for Emerson from the left-back position.

    Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

We're warming up, slowly. Bit more pace and spice in the game as a poor Petr Cech clearance leads to a Chelsea counter, Eden Hazard feeds Emerson on the overlap and his cross is cleared away. Chelsea threaten from the corner but Mateo Kovacic's pass is poor.

Kovacic is going straight into my file of '100% forgettable Premier League loanees.' Along with Gonzalo Higuain.

  18. Arsenal's front two causing problemspublished at 20:29 British Summer Time 29 May 2019

    Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

    Alan Pardew

Arsenal's front two are running down the sides of the Chelsea centre-backs. It's a great cross by Aubameyang and a great hit by Xhaka. Chelsea gave him too much time there.

  19. CLOSE!published at 27 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

I look forward to Maurizio Sarri telling Eden Hazard to spend his last hour in a Chelsea shirt tracking Ainsley Maitland-Niles...

Great strike! Granit Xhaka winds up on his right foot and hits an absolute pearler from a good 25 yards, right off the middle of the bat, Kepa flies across but can't get there and it just kisses the top of the bar on its way over.

    Alan Pardew
Former Newcastle and West Ham manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

Arsenal have been the better side the last 10 minutes. Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been terrific. He's causing problems because Eden Hazard isn't tracking him. He's got the freedom and all credit to the manager for giving him that freedom.
