He tried to go straight down the middle but Bachmann is turning in to a top goalkeeper. He stayed big, he does go to his left but the right leg comes out and boots it away, really good stop.

  11. 'Today's not about me and Steve Clarke' - Gerrardpublished at 17:15 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2019

    Kilmarnock v Rangers (17:15)

Steven Gerrard wants Rangers to iron out mistakes from the last time the sides met.

“It’s very important, we’ve spoken about consistency and us moving to the next level – that’s what myself and the players are looking for, going on that winning run and trying to get as many wins as possible," the Rangers manager tells Premier Sports.

"Steve Clarke tactically knows what to do in these types of games. They’re waiting to pounce on mistakes and we gifted them a silly goal to get them back into the game last time then we got done by the square pass on the counter-attack so I’m looking forward to today to see if the players have learned from them.

“Jermain has been forced on us although he came on against Aberdeen and scored a fantastic goal for us. Borna Barisic was very tired at the end of Aberdeen, he’s been out for four or five weeks then came in and played a number of games on the spin so we need to look after him today because he looked very tired.

“Today’s not really about me and Steve Clarke, it’s about Rangers v Kilmarnock and really looking forward to the game.”

  12. 'Just another big game' for Kilmarnockpublished at 17:13 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2019

    Kilmarnock v Rangers (17:15)

Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke tells BBC Scotland: "This is just another big game. The difference now is there is more than a little bit of hope that we can get a result.

"The game that we played three weeks ago is gone. It's a cup competition, you can 't afford to make too many mistakes. We're all ready for it."

On whether his recent war of words with Rangers manager Steven Gerrard adds extra spice to the fixture, he says: "I wouldn't think so, it's just part and parcel of the business."

    Kilmarnock v Rangers (17:15)

Managers Steve Clarke and Steven Gerrard have traded barbs in the run-up to this evening’s Scottish Cup meeting.

Gerrard took umbrage at Clarke’s call for consistency after Jermain Defoe won a penalty for against St Mirren, the Killie boss citing Jordan Jones’ diving ban earlier this season, accusing his former coach at Liverpool of "trying to get one of my players banned".

Clarke then had a nibble back, saying the Ibrox boss had got "more personal", stressing: "I mentioned some incidents, no names."
