He was so far ahead of his time. I am so happy I spent the first six years of my career at Watford. We were so disciplined, he affected our lives off the field as well as on it terms of our community spirit and responsibility.

Playing under Graham Taylor was one of the best parts of my career, my life even. He was someone I grew up with, a father figure to me and most of the players. He trained us hard but gave us life lessons too. We still talk about him now; he was a very special person.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said "winning is so addictive" when he spoke to BBC Sport ahead of today's final.

"When you win, you take a shower and then you want to win the next one and the next," he said.

"It makes your life better and easier. Winning helps to win more and it helps to make this club better.

"If we don't win, it does not change my life or opinion of what we have to do next season."

In this wide-ranging interview, he speaks about the influence of Vincent Kompany, the devastation of being knocked out of the Champions League and how this season's Premier League title was better than last year's.

When was the last time we had a wet cup final?

The traditional baking Wembley weather is very much absent at the moment. I'd go as far as to say it's pretty cold inside the still empty arena.

Chuck 90k fans in here, some pyrotechnics and some of the best footballers in the country and I'm sure it'll warm up...

Watford were my first club. Like your first girlfriend, you’ll always have a soft spot for them.

Anything can happen in a one-off. Watford are a Premier League team. Wimbledon beat us [Liverpool]. It’s a two-horse race, the odds won’t be 20-1 or 30-1.

The way Leicester played against Manchester City, they showed if you’re organised and can defend in numbers – and try to catch them on the break with Gerard Deulofeu or Troy Deeney they’ve got a chance.

Another quiz to get your teeth into as we countdown to kick-off.

The race for the Premier League Golden Boot ended in a three-way tie, with Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane all netting the same amount of goals over the 2018-19 season.

But can you rank this season's top Premier League scorers from each of the top six clubs in order?

Where there is a tie for goals scored, the player with the most assists ranks higher, followed by minutes played.

  14. 'Man City are an animal'published at 14:20 British Summer Time 18 May 2019

Man City v Watford (17:00 BST)

    Jermaine Jenas
Former Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live's Friday Football Social

Pep Guardiola has still got such a competitive nature on that training ground, the competition for places, it’s not a given for 50% of that team. Sterling, Aguero, Laporte, Ederson, Silva, you’d do well to shift them [but the rest of places are up for grabs].

The second team he has would still finish in the top four in the Premier League.

It’s great he takes this competition seriously. But that’s probably because of this squad’s desire to win matches. They’re an animal. They’re so unfortunate to not be looking at a European final. They were millimetres away against Spurs.

  16. History of the FA Cup trophypublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 18 May 2019

Man City v Watford (17:00 BST)

Did you know the very first FA Cup trophy made was stolen from a window of a Birmingham shop - where winners Aston Villa had agreed to display it so their fans could see it up close - and was never seen again?

It was made for £20 and went by the nickname of the ‘little tin idol’.

Villa, as reigning champions, were even fined £25 by the FA to pay for a replacement trophy, as the cup was their responsibility at the time of the theft.

In total there have been five FA Cups made since the competition was founded in 1871.

  17. 'Do Watford play them at their own game?'published at 14:13 British Summer Time 18 May 2019

Man City v Watford (17:00 BST)

    Paul Lake
Former Manchester City defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Pep Guardiola is hungry for success and his winning mentality, he’s relentless. As a consequence, so are the players.

A treble would be unprecedented but we can’t take any game for granted. Watford have been a very strong side in the FA Cup.

Pep and all the players will be so determined.

Teams will try different strategies to try to beat City. Leicester tried to go toe to toe with them and gave them a good test. Do Watford play them at their own game or sit back? City work so hard out of possession that they will match any team for work-rate.

Hopefully it won't be, but if this is Vincent Kompany's last game for Man City then what a send off it would be for him to cap off a Treble at Wembley. One of the greatest players in the club's history.

Vincent Kompany has faced adversity all his career. Manchester City have probably spent more money on centre halves than anyone else in recent years but he has kept his place. That mental power to always be ready for what the team needs and never give up, it’s outstanding.
