Mo Salah slips it to him on the edge of the box and Firmino flicks the ball twice - once to take it away from the defender, and twice to push it into Salah's pass.
The Egyptian carries his run on into the box and slips it past a stationary Martin Dubravka. Unstoppable.

You just wonder whether Newcastle can keep holding on. I know they need another goal but if they keep holding like this then they might get a chance, They are composed, well organised and look fitter than they have in recent weeks.

Liverpool swing a free-kick in from the right and it's Virgil van Dijk at the back post who gets a head on it.
His knock-back is blocked but the centre-back stays up! He slips it left to Roberto Firmino but the Brazilian gives the ball away. Newcastle have no outlet and it's straight back to Liverpool.

Eventually, it comes over to Roberto Firmino, who flicks it onto Andy Robertson. The left-back's shot is well saved by the keeper at the near post!

Liverpool are straight up the other end and Trent Alexander-Arnold is allowed to dart into the box. He is just a few yards out when he shoots - but the angle is tight and Martin Dubravka does well to make the save.

Christian Atsu does really well to whip a ball in from the left and it's awful marking from Liverpool, who have let Emil Krafth sneak it at the far side.
He is completely unmarked and even has time to bring the ball down but he fires it way over the bar.
What a chance! What a waste...

Seconds later, Roberto Firmino is released through the middle but his pass is cut-out. Newcastle try to counter but Virgil van Dijk stands his ground.

Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum play one-twos straight out of Fifa Street. Flicks, one-touch passing and quick turns before Wijnaldum pulls off an audacious half-volley which lands inches over the crossbar and on top of the netting.
That would have been something!
