    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard: "Antonio Rudiger will have an important role to play. I know how important he has been for the club with his personality, character and quality as an international defender.

"We have missed him as we have missed a few front line players... leadership is important in a team, particularly when everyone is saying how young we are. I don't want a young team for the sake of it.

"I want leaders within that and Rudiger has to take on that responsibility."

Liverpool make two changes for the resumption as Roberto Firmino and Jordan Henderson both step down to the bench. Firmino played an hour in LA on Wednesday night for Brazil - their 17-game unbeaten run came to an end against Peru - so gets a bit of a breather, with Divock Origi coming in. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain gets a chance in midfield.

Liverpool XI: Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Fabinho, Mane, Salah, Origi

Newcastle make just one change from the side held by Watford last month - former Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey replaces the injured Sean Longstaff. There's still no sign of Andy Carroll.

    Wolves v Chelsea (15:00 BST)

There is nothing wrong with the Blues' attacking play under Frank Lampard, but they have some improving to do at the back.

I am confident Lampard will get it right though. This is a tricky one for Chelsea because I really rate Wolves and the way they play, but I just have a feeling the Blues will edge it.

  7. 'Optimism could vanish quickly'published at 11:26 British Summer Time 14 September 2019

    Brighton v Burnley (15:00 BST)

    Robyn Cowen
    BBC Sport

There's a real feeling of freshness to both Brighton and Burnley in the early part of the season.

The arrival of Graham Potter has brought new ideas and a more expansive style to Brighton. There's just one thing that's missing: a win at the Amex - the home support haven't seen a victory since March.

As for Burnley, unleashed from the shackles of the Europa League, they're already three points better off than at this time last year.

They also have a striker in red-hot form in Ashley Barnes., external

If we do have a winner on Saturday, the loser could see their early-season optimism vanish very quickly.

Chelsea's most recent league victory against Wolves was at Molineux on 2 January 2012, when Frank Lampard scored the decisive goal in the 89th minute.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side are unbeaten in 10 home league games since losing to Crystal Palace in January (W6, D4).

Chelsea have conceded nine Premier League goals this season - only Norwich, with 10, have a worse record.

  13. 'This will not be dull'published at 11:15 British Summer Time 14 September 2019

    Wolves v Chelsea (15:00 BST)

    Steve Wilson
    Match of the Day commentator

Last time I saw Wolves play at home to Chelsea was an FA Cup fifth-round tie in early 2017. Wolves were just outside the relegation zone in the Championship and the visitors topped the Premier League.

It would have been tough to conceive that within 18 months you could make a case for Chelsea being underdogs at Molineux.

Not that Nuno Espirito Santo will see it like that - after all, Wolves still haven't won a league game this season despite six wins from six in Europa League qualifying.

Chelsea's very youthful side have - as you might expect - shown both promise and naivety. This will not be dull.

    Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche on Danny Drinkwater: "He's old enough and wise enough to know you do whatever you can to try not to get into scrapes but sometimes it happens.

"He is part of us. We have to work with him and help him get realigned to where he was and where he wants to be. We have talked to him and the rest will remain private."

  15. 'Clarets a tough nut to crack'published at 11:09 British Summer Time 14 September 2019

    Brighton v Burnley (15:00 BST)

You can already see how Brighton are a more adventurous side this season with Graham Potter in charge. Even in their defeat by Manchester City last time out, they had a bit of a go.

I think the players appreciate having the freedom to attack, and the Seagulls fans will definitely enjoy watching them.

It will be the same approach against Burnley, but I think the Clarets will be a tough nut to crack - they usually are.
