David Luiz has had several conversations with referee Kevin Friend and still has not received a yellow card. He is very fortunate after a fair few impetuous challenges.

The latest of these saw Luiz send Tosun to the turf with a clumsy challenge, provoking howls from the home fans.

A half-decent Arsenal move sees Emile Smith-Rowe and Reiss Nelson combine down the right before the ball is swung in low for Aubameyang. Pickford is wise to them, though, and dives out to gather.

It was a decent delivery and really Aubameyang should have scored but it will go down as a great save by Pickford.

Both sides are showing a bit more intent now, hopefully we'll have a goal to report on soon.

The corner is nodded on and falls to the striker at the back post. He is unmarked, with just Pickford to beat but fails to do so with his shot coming off his ankle and allowing the home keeper to palm the ball over.

Soon after, the striker has another sight of goal but his effort from the edge of the box is soft and easy for Pickford.

Dare we hope that the game is livening up?

Good tackle, Yerry Mina. Arsenal are into the box but the big Colombian sticks out his leg to prevent a shot and concede a corner.

We've seen precious little of Reiss Nelson so far, but his driving run wins his side a corner. Nelson himself takes but it is cut out at the near post and cleared.

Is is naive of me to believe professional footballers should be able to beat the first man at corners?

Good little bit of intensity from Everton ends up with Richarlison having a shot. There's a little to be encouraged by there.

First shot in anger this half sees Richarlison drag a low shot across goal and wide.

Tackles flying in all over the shop in the opening minutes of this half. This is primarily because most of the players' control is so bad. Granit Xhaka gets caught by Fabian Delph and goes seeking revenge on Tom Davies, who gets a foul.
