Italy 2-0 Switzerland
I bet if Switzerland had all night to try and get back into this game, they wouldn't be able to.

Switzerland have no momentum in the game at the moment. Something has to change as Italy are controlling the game and it's getting away from the Swiss.
Italy 2-0 Switzerland
Xherdan Shaqiri tries to provide some magic for his side but his shot from range is always going over. Well over, in fact.
Italy 2-0 Switzerland
Manuel Locatelli has managed more touches in the opposing penalty area this evening than all of Switzerland's forward players combined.
Only Giacomo Bulgarelli (v Switzerland in 1962) and Mario Balotelli (v Germany in 2012) have scored a brace for Italy at a major tournament at a younger age than Locatelli (23y 159d).
Locatelli is also the first player to score from outside the box for Italy at the European Championships since Andrea Pirlo in 2012 (against Croatia).

Francesco Totti is here, watching on. Imagine what damage he could have done in this team?
Italy 2-0 Switzerland
Two more changes for Switzerland. Fabian Schar is replaced by Steven Zuber, with Kevin Mbabu also off and Silvan Widmer on.
Vladimir Petkovic is trying to affect the game, but you fear it may already be too far gone and Italy simply too good.

Carl: I actually think Italy could win the tournament.
Helles: Italy confirms the impressions of the first game, one of the absolute favourites for Euro 2020. A very compact and balanced team without any stars or prima donnas...

Switzerland's night can't get much worse can it? These nuggets pretty much sum up their evening so far in Rome.
Mario Gavranovic was yellow carded only three minutes and 24 seconds after coming on, the quickest a substitute has been shown a card during Euro 2020.
And Haris Seferovic, who went off had just 13 touches in the first half, managed fewer than any other player, including Giorgio Chiellini, who went off in the 24th minute.

You can marvel at the way they find space and pick passes. The work-rate, though, is the thing that props it all up. Switzerland players can barely breathe before they have a man in blue on them.
Italy 2-0 Switzerland
Manuel Locatelli is the third Italian to score a brace at the Euros after Mario Balotelli vs Germany in 2012 and Pierliugi Casiraghi against Russia in 1996.

What an evening that left foot of Locatelli is having - it's 22 yards out hard and low but it was sustained pressure from the Italians, they kept the ball in there and didn't allow Switzerland to get out.
Locatelli hits it low, hard, across the goalkeeper and the goalkeeper does not even move.
Italy 2-0 Switzerland
This is ominous if you support any team other than Italy.
It's absolutely marvellous if you do.
Manuel Locatelli
It's two! And is it game over?
Manuel Locatelli's dream night just gets better. The ball is fed to the midfielder on the edge of the box and he takes a touch before slamming a drive in to the bottom corner.
What a hit, what a player, what a team!
Italy 1-0 Switzerland
Now two players - one from each side - clash as they both go in for a loose ball. It is Fabian Schar and Domenico Berardi. Bot coaches want a free-kick for their side. It goes to the Swiss, though.
Italy 1-0 Switzerland
Probably not the introduction Mario Gavranovic wanted. He mistimes his tackle on Leonardo Bonucci, who drops to the turf in apparent agony. The forward gets a yellow and the Italian defender quickly gets back up.
Italy 1-0 Switzerland
I think what we need to remember is that Switzerland are by no means mugs. They came into this game in good form and have top quality players. But Italy are making them look a bit ordinary.
Italy 1-0 Switzerland
Things are looking very good for Italy and Wales.

The ball is swung in and headed wide from by the off-balance Nico Elvedi.

Early corner for Switzerland.

Let's get back into this. Italy lead. They have one foot in the last 16.
Switzerland have made a change, sending on Dinamo Zagreb forward Mario Gavranovic (who has 14 goals in 30 caps) for Haris Seferovic. Can he provide the punch?
