Boro have got to take heart from the first game, to take Tottenham to 60 minutes without scoring. They made it tough for them and they've got to do the same.

They're not going to come here and play them off the park. There's got to be a game plan.

    Tottenham v Middlesbrough (20:05 GMT)

    Middlesbrough

Boro boss Jonathan Woodgate: "The stadium's something else, it's an exceptional place.

"I thought we played really well at the Riverside. Today they'll be more on the front foot and come at us. We'll need to soak up the pressure at times and hopefully we can get a goal or two.

"We've got a lot of confidence. We've got a lot of young players and they carry a lot of energy. It's going to be a good game for us. Spurs are a top side with an incredible manager. I've told our players to just go and enjoy the game."

A good ball over the top finds Christian Atsu over the top and the Newcastle man lays it off to Miguel Almiron - he goes for the sidefoot but it's always wide.

Jose Mourinho on making five changes for tonight's game: "These are the players that you have. We take the competition seriously. We took the first match at Middlesbrough also seriously. It was difficult. We have no players to make more rotations than what we did.

"We have to try with what we have. We recover some players from injury, I believe one or another will be back next week. Step by step back to normality."

What a disgraceful thing to say Richard at 19:17! I'm an Everton fan and even I think that's a load of rubbish. You do know Liverpool have the most league cups? Second most fa cups? Something to be proud of. A trophy is a trophy, it's massive, AND it's plastered all over Melwood and Anfield. Cup ties are wonderful occasions for clubs of all sizes. Sad indictment of modern football that comment.

    Chris, London

Re 19:17. I'm sure most fans would be happy if Liverpool never won the FA or EFL cups again. Not sure if their youngsters would benefit from playing at Anfield in front of a couple of thousand.

Decent effort from Rochdale! Jimmy Keohane fires in a shot from 20-odd yards and lashes it wide. Not far off though.

The rain, as it has been around the country, hammered down over Shrewsbury earlier today but it has settled down a bit now. Still, pretty tough conditions on the pitch and it has been scrappy start.

There’s a stiff breeze at Bloomfield Road but nothing too horrendous. It has rained all day but thankfully it has now stopped. The pitch looks heavy but there aren’t any puddles to concern the officials.

There’s a healthy crowd for the replay - which might not have been called for had Armand Gnanduillet scored that penalty!

Christian Eriksen is free to negotiate with any overseas club at the moment. Inter Milan are interested in him and would like to sign him this month. They think they will know more tomorrow or later this week about whether they have a chance of doing that.

The problem for Jose Mourinho is that he doesn't have any players so I suspect he feels there is no discussion to be had with Eriksen, that there's no way he's going to talk him round, that he is willing to let him leave with six months remaining on his contract - but only if he gets in a player to replace him.

Gedson Fernandes, we are led to believe, had his medical yesterday. He came through that fine. He should be confirmed as a Tottenham player shortly on an 18-month loan, but if that loan from Benfica is in addition to the players he's already got then he still needs someone else in to replace Eriksen.
