It doesn't come, with Robertson instead pulling it back to Mane, who curls it inches wide of the right post.

Salah isn't happy. He wants a hattrick. But he holds his tongue.

Sadio Mane is too cool here. He waits and waits, gives the defender the eyes then tries to tee up James Milner.

Milner isn't expecting it and the pass is a bad one, allowing Brighton to regain possession.

Aaron Mooy feeds it through to Aaron Connolly, who is offside. He isn't aware yet, despite the flag being raised, and Virgil van Dijk tracks back and gets a tackle in.

It's a risky one and a few of the Brighton substitutes are appealing for a penalty before realising the flag is up.

He was the last defender and gets a yellow as a result but a quick VAR check for a red card is dismissed as he was far too wide for it to be considered a goalscoring opportunity.

Lovely from Aaron Connolly, who gets the better of Joe Gomez with a brilliant first touch. He gets caught in two minds on whether to shoot or cross and ends up doing half of both - drilling it wide and too far in front of Neal Maupay.

Trent Alexander-Arnold plays a deep free-kick into the Brighton box, with Liverpool piling players forward.

Virgil van Dijk gets there and nods it back across the middle on a plate for Georginio Wijnaldum but he manages to head it over the bar from a few yards out.

What a goal this would have been!

Dale Stephens chips it over the back four beautifully, finding the run of Leandro Trossard. He can't control the volley, lifting it over the bar with Alisson charging out.

He just needed a bit more composure. Great ball, great run, lacking in end product.

Tariq Lamptey thinks he's fouled as he concedes a corner to Sadio Mane on the left. His boot has come off so he quickly shoves it back on as the corner is whipped in.

It bobbles around dangerously in the box, not quite falling for Mohamed Salah, before it's eventually hooked away.

Fabinho takes out Aaron Mooy on the left and goes into the book.

Jordan Henderson has picked up a knock. Jurgen Klopp will hope that's nothing too serious. James Milner is getting ready to come on.
