    Iceland 0-0 England

James Ward-Prowse has played at full-back for Southampton last season and he's filling in there now. Declan Rice is the England midfield now.

What a mess. England have managed one Wayne Rooney penalty in 160 minutes against Iceland now.

  2. RED CARD - Kyle Walkerpublished at 70 mins

    Iceland 0-0 England

Well that is a massive blow for England! Kyle Walker was booked in the first half for bringing his man down and now he slides in from a way out, it's a pretty wild lunge and while he doesn't make a massive amount of contact it's not the smartest challenge.

    England down to 10!

    Iceland 0-0 England

Danny Ings is the spearhead, Harry Kane just looking to drop off him. It's still a bit too pedestrian though. Patient probing.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 68 mins

    Iceland 0-0 England

England work it well but again, it breaks down. This time they send Kieran Trippier in on the overlap but he has to cut inside and it runs away from him.

Phil Foden's debut is over as Danny Ings comes on to join Harry Kane up top.

    Iceland 0-0 England

England's last shot on target was in the 28th minute.

  6. CLOSE!published at 63 mins

    Iceland 0-0 England

Kieran Trippier whips in the ball and it's a beauty, could go straight in but it flies just wide off the skim of an Icelandic bonce.

What a ball in. Still no breakthrough though!

  7. Postpublished at 62 mins

    Iceland 0-0 England

Pass of the day from Joe Gomez, threaded into James Ward-Prowse on the half turn. Takes half the Iceland team out of the game but nothing comes of it. Harry Kane tries an overhead kick but it's bravely blocked by someone's nose.

England now have a free-kick out wide...

  8. Postpublished at 60 mins

    Iceland 0-0 England

England remain patient, their style of play hasn't changed. It's 80.8% of possession now as Jadon Sancho puts a cross out of play.

Alan Butler: This is looking all too familiar. Iceland will score any minute now.

Moose and me: Declan Rice - really? I don’t get it. Technically poor and it’s on show again here

Adam Byrne: It's incredible how much Gareth Southgate chops and changes his squad and starting line ups.

    Iceland 0-0 England

It really does. A whole new world, and not in a good way. Surely changes are on the way now as Jadon Sancho scuffs a volley across goal and Harry Kane can't get there.

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Tottenham and England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think Mason Greenwood is a certainty for his first England cap the way the game is going.

I'd also like to see Danny Ings come on and Mason Mount could come on.

  14. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Iceland 0-0 England

Eric Dier clears a free-kick away well - he's done alright at the back today.

    Iceland 0-0 England

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Tottenham and England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Iceland are sitting back and they are well organised.

It's going to be all England in this second half but it's about who will be clever enough to open the door?

Iceland are allowing England the ball but they're not hurting them.

  16. Postpublished at 52 mins

    Iceland 0-0 England

A waste. England turn the ball over and get at Iceland, Harry Kane drops off but the ball to him isn't great and he can only send it on one more.

Declan Rice is the man coming on to it and he spoons it over the top.

Time for Grealish methinks, draws a couple of men in to create the space for the top 3

    Stephen, Birmingham

Why hasn't Southgate tried to teach tactics that break down 10 men behind the ball defences? Sadly Southgate is tactically naive. Ignoring the utter lack of creativity and boring 'stop, turn, pass back to defence' negative football.

The nations league is fantastic. So much better than euros qualifying, where the fact that it's a 24 team tournament means that England's qualifying is boring and easy. At least in the nations league the games have something riding on them!

At what point will England make changes? At what point should fans get concerned?

England are having all of the ball again but faced with a stubborn and well drilled defence they are struggling to inspire.

  19. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Iceland 0-0 England

England go long again, Raheem Sterling runs in behind but Kari Arnason clears his lines again. Good defending.

  20. Postpublished at 47 mins

James Ward-Prowse bends in a corner which Iceland nod away. Hands in pockets for Gareth on the sideline. Looking at the floor.
