This is looking quite laboured by Manchester United. Daniel James has a cross cleared by Mamadou Sakho.

    Man Utd 0-1 Crystal Palace

Oof. Anthony Martial tries a pirouette and gets absolutely clattered by James McCarthy. The loose ball runs to Bruno Fernandes, who is fine after his early injury, and his deflected shot is saved.

    McCarthy needs treatment.

United look lazy and are acting like it's still pre-season. Incredibly disappointing.

    Man Utd 0-1 Crystal Palace

Wilfried Zaha finds Andros Townsend, who smashes the ball over from 18 yards.

Townsend is one of those players, when he has a good game he looks like a world beater. But he only has a few a year.

Aleksandar Todorov: Tottenham announcing Sergio Regulion while Manchester United are trailing Crystal Palace due to sloppy defending. I see what you did there Spurs.

    Man Utd 0-1 Crystal Palace

Scott McTominay tries to be too clever. It's a decent United move and McT tries to find Anthony Martial with a flicked pass instead of just giving him the ball. Goal kick.

    Man Utd 0-1 Crystal Palace

United are finding their groove a bit now and Scott McTominay curls one wide from the edge of the box. It caught a deflection on the way so is a corner... which comes to nothing.

    Man Utd 0-1 Crystal Palace

United's first shot on target as Paul Pogba lines up one from 20 yards but Vicente Guaita gets down low to save it before it creeps inside the post.

It will be interesting to see how Pogba does this season.

United just about get the free-kick away. At the other end Anthony Martial has the ball but can't slip it through to Daniel James.

    Man Utd 0-1 Crystal Palace

Palace always seem to do better than I expect them to.

Wilfried Zaha is playing well, he's drawn a few fouls so far by backing into United players.

Bruno Fernandes is down. James McCarthy sells him a dummy and the Portuguese goes down. I think McCarthy stood on his foot. The medical team are on.

United get lucky. Victor Lindelof is 40 yards from goal but tries to head it back to David de Gea. Wilfried Zaha is in between the pair but can't take advantage.

Samrat Ray Chaudhuri: Maybe this goal will spur Woodie into some action on the transfer front.

I always used to look forward with anticipation to the first game of a new season when fans get a first glimpse of new signings. United look utterly stale.

United's Timothy Fosu-Mensah has a crack from distance but it's wide. Moments later the hosts win a corner but Palace clear.
