  1. 'I was impressed by Everton'published at 12:11 British Summer Time 19 September 2020

Everton v West Brom (12:30 BST)

I was impressed by Everton in their win at Tottenham last week. They worked hard and they were the better team - they got a really good result and they fully deserved it.

When you make some quality signings like the Toffees have done, and you start off with a win like that, everyone starts thinking 'this might be our season'.

West Brom, on the other hand, got turned over at home by Leicester - and everyone is expecting them to struggle after they came up from the Championship.

But the Baggies already knew that they are likely to be fighting relegation, and their challenge is going to be to win enough games to beat the drop. I don't think this will be one of them, though.

    Prediction: 2-0

  4. Toffees off to a good start?published at 12:02 British Summer Time 19 September 2020

Everton v West Brom (12:30 BST)

Everton could begin a Premier League season with consecutive victories for the first time since 2012-13.

The Toffees failed to win any of their three home league matches against promoted sides last season, drawing one and losing two.

But Carlo Ancelotti has never lost a Premier League fixture to newly-promoted opposition, winning 11 and drawing four - this is the most any manager has faced promoted sides without ever suffering defeat to one in the competition.

  5. Debut for Donny?published at 11:59 British Summer Time 19 September 2020

Manchester United v Crystal Palace (17:30 BST)

Manchester United are weighing up whether to hand summer signing Donny van de Beek his competitive debut.

Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood are available after completing coronavirus quarantines.

Crystal Palace's lengthy injury list includes Gary Cahill, James Tomkins and Patrick van Aanholt.

Mamadou Sakho returned in the EFL Cup in midweek and may feature, while Christian Benteke, Connor Wickham and Jairo Riedewald are being assessed.

  7. 'I wish he came here earlier'published at 11:53 British Summer Time 19 September 2020

    Leeds v Fulham (15:00 BST)

Leeds United full-back Stuart Dallas says he will "never have enough words" with which to thank Marcelo Bielsa for transforming his career.

Northern Ireland international Dallas was one of the key men in Bielsa's side as they won promotion to end Leeds' 16-year absence from the Premier League.

The 29-year-old has been converted by the Leeds boss from a winger into an attacking full-back.

"I just wish he had come here earlier than he did," said Dallas.

In an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live's Steve Crossman, he added: "That's no disrespect to the past managers because I have always loved working with whoever has been here, but in terms of my performances he has really improved me.

"I think I speak for 99% of the team when I say that."

Arsenal centre-back David Luiz has been passed fit following neck spasms, while Mesut Ozil is under consideration after being left out last weekend against Fulham.

Defenders Shkodran Mustafi, Sokratis and Pablo Mari are among the absentees.

West Ham captain Mark Noble missed training on Friday with a toe injury and is being monitored.

Ex-Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is a doubt to face his former club because of an ankle problem.

Record signing Sebastian Haller scored twice in the EFL Cup and could be recalled.

Everton v West Brom (12:30 BST)

After being in League Cup action in midweek, Everton revert to the same side that beat Tottenham in the opening round of Premier League fixtures.

That means James Rodriguez makes his first home appearance for the Toffees, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin will look to make it two goals in two goals as he returns to the front line.

Everton: Pickford, Coleman, Mina, Keane, Digne, Doucoure, Allan, Andre Gomes, Rodriguez, Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison.

Subs: Kenny, Sigurdsson, Iwobi, Bernard, Davies, Kean, Virginia.

Despite losing 3-0 to Leicester in their Premier League opener West Brom also name the same starting XI from that game.

New signing Branislav Ivanovic misses out as he builds match fitness while fellow recent arrival Conor Gallagher is also not included in the matchday squad.

There is, however, a place on the bench for Cedric Kipre, who joined from Wigan this summer and made his debut in the League Cup win over Harrogate in midweek.

West Brom: Johnstone, Furlong, Ajayi, Bartley, O'Shea, Gibbs, Matheus Pereira, Livermore, Sawyers, Diangana, Robinson.

Subs: Robson-Kanu, Phillips, Harper, Edwards, Kipre, Button, Field.

Manchester United v Crystal Palace (17:30 BST)

    Speaking of Manchester United...

The club asked for Mason Greenwood to be rested and not called up by England for Nations League duty, says manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Greenwood, 18, made his senior debut against Iceland on 5 September having made 50 appearances in all competitions for United last season.

He and Manchester City's Phil Foden were later sent home from the England squad for breaking coronavirus rules.

"I tried my best to give him a rest over the summer," said Solskjaer. "We asked specifically and pointed out he should have had a rest."
