Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho, who is seeking to win the competition for a fifth time with a third different club, speaking to Sky Sports: "It's a trophy so when a team wins it it's always positive but it's too early to talk about winning it.

"I would never pick a player I don't believe can perform for the team. It is an opportunity and of course our objective is to win."

Asked about the away changing facilities, which have been criticised, Mourinho added: "It's very good. I know the ones that complained had reason to complain. Today very, very good facilities."

It feels like he's been around for an age but Dele Alli is still only 24. He has only scored two domestic goals in 2020. Tonight a chance for him to kick on?

Stoke City boss Michael O'Neill, speaking to Sky Sports: "We have three keepers injured and another is unfortunately cup-tied. It presents an opportunity and I'm sure Andy Lonergan will take it. We only had young keepers as alternative options and we felt experience was the right way to go considering where we are in the competition.

"Our priority is always the league. We are in a decent position but having got this far we want to treat this competition properly. We have some energy in the team and we want to give a good account for ourselves.

"Much is made about playing Stoke on a wet and windy night. That is actually the case tonight. It's up to us to make it a cup tie. The conditions will have a factor in that and we will have a right good go."

Strong Spurs side on paper but the Europa League has proved that high quality individuals don't guarantee results. Looking for big performances from Bale and Alli tonight.

I was hoping for a full Mourinho meltdown about the conditions at Stoke - after Middlesbrough manager Neil Warnock claimed the temporary away dressing room was cold, the toilets were blocked, the showers were leaking and fumes were being pumped in from a generator.

But it appears that portakabin has been upgraded...

    Stoke v Tottenham (17:30 GMT)

Stoke City make six changes as they seek to reach the semi-finals for the first time since 2016 when they lost to Liverpool on penalties.

There is a start for 37-year-old keeper Andy Lonergan whose last competitive game was for Rochdale in League One in March 2019.

Former West Brom midfielder James McClean returns to the side.

Stoke City XI: Lonergan, Collins, Batth, Souttar, Smith, Cousins, Thompson, Fox, Oakley-Boothe, McClean, Brown.

Tottenham, chasing a first major trophy since 2008, make seven changes but Harry Kane starts along with Gareth Bale, Hugo Lloris, Eric Dier and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

There's also a first start since 26 November for Dele Alli.

Tottenham XI: Lloris, Doherty, Sanchez, Dier, Davies, Hojbjerg, Winks, Dele, Lucas, Bale, Kane.

And it's Andy Lonergan who starts in goal as Stoke make six changes from the team which beat Blackburn. James McClean is a familiar face who comes in.

Spurs make seven changes but can still name a formidable side. Gareth Bale, Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Lucas Moura and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg all start.

    Full line-ups to come.

    Stoke City

Stoke are without four goalkeepers and must choose between an inexperienced 19-year-old and a 37-year-old who has not played a league game in almost two years.

Adam Davies, who began the season as number one, and his replacement Angus Gunn were the first to be sidelined before Finland international Niki Maenpaa was injured within days of being signed as cover.

Joe Bursik has started the last nine games after being recalled from loan at Doncaster but he is cup-tied.

Potters boss Michael O'Neill is left with teenager Blondy Nna Noukeu, who has no first-team appearances, and Andy Lonergan, fourth choice at Liverpool last year.

It's 1972 you need to flick to if you're looking up the last time Stoke lifted a major honour, although that's only if you're not counting the 2000 Auto Windscreens Shield. Harsh.

Both sides are two games away from the final. Who wants it?
