    Everton 0-0 Man Utd

Robin Olsen is VERY lucky. He looks a bit nervy. He fakes to kick it long, tries to cut inside of Edinson Cavani but trips over his feet and the United striker almost nicks it off him. He just about gets away with it.

Another corner to United. This time it's Abdoulaye Doucoure making the clearance. Corner number five... doesn't beat the first man.

Man Utd have started really well. Sometimes if you start a game slow, it can set the tempo for a lot of the half. Man Utd will be delighted.

  5. CLOSE!published at 8 mins

    Everton 0-0 Man Utd

It's swung in towards the near post. Edinson Cavani misses it but Axel Tuanzebe gets a touch.

There's a scramble - and appeals for handball - before it's half cleared. Mason Greenwood manages to weave back into the box. It's cut back to Paul Pogba and he backheels it to Donny van de Beek. His shot is saved!

From another corner, Pogba's scuffed shot is poked on by Cavani but he's offside again. CLOSE.

Bit of tissue up his nose and he'll be fine.

    Everton 0-0 Man Utd

Robin Olsen, making his home debut for Everton, just about gets a hand to the United corner and ends up taking out Yerry Mina in the process.

It's another corner to United but Mina will just get some treatment for a bash on his nose. He'll thank the keeper for that later, I'm sure.

    Everton 0-0 Man Utd

Donny van de Beek almost cuts it back to Edinson Cavani in the box but Yerry Mina is in the right place to intercept.

    Bright start from United.

Nemanja Matic tries to feed it through to Edinson Cavani but he doesn't excute it right. Edinson then puts pressure on Robin Olsen but he's offside.

Dundee midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Everton have spent a lot of money and their XI is very strong but if they do pick up a few injuries, it is a bit of a worry for them. If they can add to the bench in the window, then Everton as a club will be a lot stronger.

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti speaking to Sky Sports: "It's a very important game and competition - a chance to get to a semi-final. We are playing a tough opponent but we will try to do our best.

"They are a dangerous team as they have players qith quality and are really good on the counter-attack and in possession so of course we will have to defend well but we will use our quality when we have the ball.

Solskjaer, who won nine major trophies as a player with United, saw his side lose in three semi-finals in 2019-20.

"We want to improve and we're expected to win trophies," said the Norwegian.
