  1. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 76 mins

    Stoke 1-2 Tottenham

Nobody closes Harry Kane down so he shoots from range and it dips just past the top corner.

Son then runs in on goal and casually clips home - but the flag was up. looked tight!

Where's VAR when you need it?

  2. Henderson and Van de Beek inpublished at 19:02 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2020
    Breaking

Everton v Manchester United (20:00 GMT)

Everton name a very strong side as you'd expect, with Richarlison and DCL up front.

Manchester United have Dean Henderson in goal, Donny van de Beek in midfield and Edinson Cavani up top.

    Full teams to come.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 72 mins

    Stoke 1-2 Tottenham

Capable of genius and of lethargy, Nick Powell is on for Stoke.

  4. 'Superb strike from Davies'published at 19:00 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2020

    Stoke 1-2 Tottenham

    Clinton Morrison
Former Crystal Palace striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is a big goal for Tottenham. No one closes Ben Davies down so 25 yards out he just strikes it. I don't know if the keeper could've done better but you have to credit Davies because it hits the post and then goes in - but it is a superb strike from Davies.

  5. goal

GOAL - Stoke 1-2 Tottenhampublished at 18:58 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2020

    Ben Davies (70 mins)

Well that is absolutely tremendous! As good as it is unexpected, Ben Davies puts Spurs back in front with a special goal.

A Stoke player cuts out a pass forwards and it runs to Davies in space getting on for 25-30 yards out. There's no real apparent danger but the Welshman takes a touch and then lashes a shot past the dive od Andy Lonergan and in off the base of the post.

Jose is absolutely right. Dele's ineffective flicks and loose possession have been costing us for years. He needs to get back to basics. Once he masters simple passes he can try his showboating.

    S in Sheffield

what has happened to Doherty? He looked quality in the first few games of this season but now looks like he wouldn't get into this stoke side, let alone our best 11; utterly dreadful tonight

  7. 'Alli is talented but it could be time for a change for him'published at 18:56 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2020

    Stoke 1-1 Tottenham

    Clinton Morrison
Former Crystal Palace striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Dele Alli is a talented boy but I think there comes a time where a player needs a change. He's a confidence player and he needs a manager to love him and I don't think Jose Mourinho is loving him at the moment and that's why he's not involved in a lot of Spurs games in the Premier League. But there's no doubt he's a talented player.

Into the final quarter then. We are back into a pattern of Spurs patiently passing around Stoke, who are pushed back but fairly comfortable.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 67 mins

    Yep, spot on Clinton.

On come Erik Lamela and Moussa Sissoko for Dele Alli and Lucas Moura.

  10. 'Stoke are still in this game'published at 18:53 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2020

    Stoke 1-1 Tottenham

    Clinton Morrison
Former Crystal Palace striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Stoke are in this game and I can see Jose Mourinho still doesn't look happy down there - looks like he's going to make a double substitution. It's quite good this view because I can see everything that's going on - all the game and everything that's happening on the touchline!

  11. Postpublished at 65 mins

    Stoke 1-1 Tottenham

Dele Alli now coughs up possession again by trying to do too much, it was at the end of a fabulous sweeping piece of play from one box to the other.

  12. Postpublished at 62 mins

    Stoke 1-1 Tottenham

Almost beautiful from Lucas Moura, looking up and spraying a pass through the eye of a Stoke needle and setting Harry Kane away but it's just over hit and Kane can't reach it.

Thumbs up from the England skipper.

Dax Fullbrook: Dele has played pretty solid. Lucas is out of his depth in this current squad.

Ian Marks: I've been watching Spurs for 30 years and it's like one big face-palm. Brief moments of hope, then boom. Face-palm.

  14. Postpublished at 59 mins

    Stoke 1-1 Tottenham

Steven Fletcher now heads over, well over, but that's better again from Stoke.

A reminder now that there is no extra-time tonight. Blessed we are. It would go straight to pens.

  15. Postpublished at 57 mins

    Stoke 1-1 Tottenham

Stoke get a bit giddy after that goal, a better pass from Ben Davies and Spurs would be in - they had three men in behind there...

  16. Postpublished at 56 mins

    Stoke 1-1 Tottenham

Dele the scapegoat again? He's played pretty well tonight. And now he's in again, over the top from Harry Winks but Alli's shot is well charged down by Nathan Collins.

  17. 'Jose Mourinho is not happy'published at 18:43 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2020

    Stoke 1-1 Tottenham

    Clinton Morrison
Former Crystal Palace striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Great play - Jacob Brown does well, plays it to Steven Fletcher, Fletcher with a reverse ball and then Brown puts it into an area and it's a great run from Jordan Thompson and a good finish he beats Hugo Lloris at the near post.

Before that Dele Ali tries a flick and Jose Mourinho goes out to the touch line and says 'your flick has cost us that goal' - there's going to be more to that. Jose is not happy.

  18. goal

GOAL - Stoke 1-1 Tottenhampublished at 18:42 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2020

    Jordan Thompson (53 mins)

Well then! Just as I was typing that Stoke haven't looked like scoring at all they come up with a big equaliser!

It's a very well-taken goal too. Jacob Brown whips in a low cross from the right, it picks out Jordan Thompson arriving at speed and he does really well to control the ball on the bounce and lash in past Hugo Lloris at his near post.

    One shot, one goal.

Ed Franklin: Son looked exhausted vs Leicester and will presumably start vs Wolves. Really don't see why you bring him on in this game

Phil Baker: Just imagine if Dele and Bale hit their stride as well as the Kane/Son show. Watch Jose’s pony climb back into contention, then!

  20. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 48 mins

    Stoke 0-1 Tottenham

And now Lucas goes down inside the area as Spurs look to make a bright start - no VAR in this game though and it's waved away.
