It might be close to freezing and the rain has been shedding down for the last hour, but the 2,000 lucky Everton supporters inside Goodison Park greet their team warmly as the players head onto a slick surface to warm-up for tonight's tie.

Definitely a night for the long johns, and a great chance for the privileged few to witness the hosts reach a first cup semi-final since 2016.

"Bruno [Fernandes] is one of those who can recover very quickly. It's a big night for all us of. They want a chance to stake a claim and we want to see Donny [van de Beek] play as well as we know he can do and has done.

"We just take one game at a time and it will be difficult. Everton have proved that plenty of times, especially here, but we are ready for it."

Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks speaking to Sky Sports: "Really happy with that performance - it's a cold, wet and windy Wednesday night at Stoke so it was tough but we applied ourselves well, we were aggressive and ready to compete which made it a lot easier for us.

"We knew they'd be a threat, they're a good side they're doing well in the Championship. So we knew they'd pose a threat and they scored but the mentality of the team was to keep going and keep doing what got us into the lead and thankfully that got us the win.

"Really pleased with my own performance personally it's been tough minutes wise and to come into a game at this intensity when you haven't had many minutes is difficult. The boys were brilliant and it's a tough place to come but the boys pulled through it so I'm really pleased.

"We hope we can keep this up - it's such a difficult competition with so many good teams left in so it will be tough semi-final whoever we get but we're doing well it was another positive performance from us."

It was a good performance from Tottenham, Stoke did come out in the second half and had a real go, positive stuff from Michael O''Neill, he made a few changes and they did have an impact on the game. Once Tottenham got the second goal they were comfortable winners and Harry Kane was the stand out player for me this evening.

Harry Kane wants a fourth but his shot is charged out.

Can't understand Jose's subs. Why take Bale and Alli off? Both were doing ok. Son and Kane need a rest and bale and alli need games for form. I think we should be ok against this Stoke team.

Well that could have made the last few minutes edgy! Stoke whip in a good ball, Steven Fletcher gets away from his marker Harry Kane to get there but he slides a header wide of the near post.

    Good chance.

This man needs one chance and that finish is superb. His all round game has been superb and he gets one chance all evening and where does he put it? In the roof of the night. It's a good pass from Moussa Sissoko, Harry Kane could've swung at it straight away but he took a touch, shifted it and the finish into the roof of the net it superb - that is why he's one of the best strikers around in world football at the moment.

    Harry Kane (81 mins)

As I suspected, the more Stoke push players forwards the more gaps open at the back but that's such a good goal.

Jordan Thompson lets the ball run in midfield. Moussa Sissoko passes forwards into the path of Harry Kane and he's into the area. He holds off the last man, is pushed a bit wide but just thunders a shot up over the keeper and into the roof of the net.

Spurs are in the last four.
