  1. CLOSE!published at 77 mins

    Liverpool 1-0 Midtjylland

A second goal could also be needed for Liverpool, as the visitors have a half chance of their own. A good ball from the right is taken down by sub Evander, who spins and shoots and it's a yard wide. Alisson was beaten there.

Am I tempting fate by predicting Real Madrid to finish 3rd in group, only to find themselves playing Mourinho managed Spurs in Europa and Bale scoring the goal that dumps them out of Europe.

GOAL - Marseille 0-2 Manchester Citypublished at 21:34 Greenwich Mean Time 27 October 2020

    Ilkay Gundogan (76 mins)

There we go, bang on cue!

Phil Foden does really well on the left to get a cross in, Raheem Sterling is attacking the far post in typical fashion and while is header isn't a clean one, it runs across goal for Ilkay Gundogan who leathers home left-footed.

    Marseille 0-1 Manchester City

Joao Cancelo has already looked good on the left wing, hugging the touchline and beating his man with ease. City just need that second goal to make sure they're not in for a nervy finale.

  5. 'Cancelo could add a lot going forward'published at 21:30 Greenwich Mean Time 27 October 2020

    Marseille 0-1 Manchester City

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Joao Cancelo may add a lot going forward, his running is stunning and his ability getting into those key areas. He's one of those full-backs who you have no idea if he's left-back, left-midfield or left-wing or where he is half the time. We'll see if he's going to see a lot of the ball.

  6. Postpublished at 70 mins

    Marseille 0-1 Manchester City

Great move - City spring Raheem Sterling in behind on the right, rapid to get clear, gets his head up and finds Ilkay Gundogan on the edge of the area. The German sidefoots it first time but it's an easy enough save for Steve Mandanda.

    Marseille 0-1 Manchester City

Definite signs of life from Marseille now. Perhaps AVB has planned this all to perfection?

City send on Joao Cancelo for Oleksandr Zinchenko.

    Real Madrid

Wow! Real Madrid are losing 2-0 at Borussia Monchengladbach.

They might have won El Clasico on Saturday but having lost last week against Shakhtar Donetsk and against Cadiz in La Liga, Zinedine Zidane is under pressure.

Has anyone got Mauricio Pochettino's number?

    Marseille 0-1 Manchester City

Marseille may have decided it's time to have a go. They send men forwards but City counter with one sharp ball, Phil Foden is away and he is close to sending Raheem Sterling in on goal.

  10. Atalanta pull level against Ajaxpublished at 21:22 Greenwich Mean Time 27 October 2020

We did tell you the scoring wasn't done in Atalanta's game against Ajax in Liverpool's group.

The Italian side were trailing 2-0 at half-time but Colombia's Duvan Zapata has scored twice to pull them level. They love a goal.

Don't forget it's their first Champions League game at their Gewiss Stadium - they had to play all their home games at Milan's San Siro last season.

  11. 'Marseille not being brave enough'published at 21:21 Greenwich Mean Time 27 October 2020

    Marseille 0-1 Manchester City

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

If you look at one or two Marseille players you think, yes you've got something, so why don't they show it? It doesn't seem to be working individually and it doesn't seem to be working as a group. They're not doing it often enough and they're not being brave enough to do it often enough.

But there is now a bit of effort from Marseille and there are tiny signs of something.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 61 mins

    Liverpool 1-0 Midtjylland

This should liven Liverpool up. Mo Salah and Sadio Mane are on for Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi. You can still make five subs in Europe, by the way.

  13. Postpublished at 61 mins

Raheem Sterling played in, it opens up momentarily - great block by Jordan Amavi to get back and make the challenge. Ah, the England man was offside.

An hour gone at Anfield and if it stays like this it's very much job done.

  15. Atletico Madrid equalisepublished at 21:15 Greenwich Mean Time 27 October 2020

Diego Simeone's side were only behind for five minutes.

Their £113m signing from last summer Joao Felix has pulled them level.

Simeone's side were battered 4-0 by Bayern Munich last week so could do with grinding out a win tonight.

  16. Do a 10kpublished at 21:15 Greenwich Mean Time 27 October 2020

    Liverpool 1-0 Midtjylland

Diogo Jota’s goal was Liverpool’s 10,000th scored in their history in all competitions, coming 128 years after their first, netted by Jock Smith in September 1892 in the Lancashire League.

  17. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 56 mins

    Marseille 0-1 Manchester City

Out of nowhere! Former Newcastle man Florian Thauvin lets fly from a long way out and Ederson seems to misread that, it's just left by the keeper and it flicks the post on the way through.

  18. goal

GOAL - Liverpool 1-0 Midtjyllandpublished at 21:12 Greenwich Mean Time 27 October 2020

    Diogo Jota (55 mins)

Breakthrough! Liverpool finally slice through as they score with their first shot on target. It's lovely play too, Xherdan Shaqiri slides a gem of a pass inside the full-back to free Trent Alexander-Arnold and he squares it, Diogo Jota couldn't miss.

  19. Postpublished at 54 mins

    Marseille 0-1 Manchester City

This is Marseille's first season in the Champions League in six years, they lost every game on that occasion and they've got to show more ambition than this. A flat back eight or nine at times, as they continually cough up possession under no real danger.

  20. Postpublished at 53 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Midtjylland

Salah and Firmino are again sent out to warm up. Jurgen Klopp may well have to use them if they want a win here.
