  1. 'City have easy possession so far'published at 20:08 Greenwich Mean Time 27 October 2020

    Marseille 0-0 Manchester City

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Manchester City are doing fine because they're holding the ball well and the system allows that. They're playing against a team that aren't coming onto them.

When Marseille lose the ball they are a back five, it's early days yet but City have got easy possession so far.

    Liverpool 0-0 Midtjylland

It's a pretty shoddy start from Liverpool and they have to defend a free-kick. Midtjylland have an NFL-style playbook for set-pieces by all accounts, every player knows where he has to run depending on the call.

Interesting. It doesn't lead to a chance on this occasion though.

  3. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Marseille 0-0 Manchester City

Very dominant start from City as Ruben Dias heads a corner over, City then hound Marseille keeper Steve Mandanda and he shanks a clearance out of play.

    Liverpool 0-0 Midtjylland

A very early chance and it's for the visitors who exploit that Liverpool centre-back region. Just a long clip down the middle sends Anders Dreyer in on goal and Alisson has to make a sharp save.

    Marseille 0-0 Manchester City

Interestingly it's Ferran Torres who is starting as the striker in the City formation tonight. He flicks one on to Kevin de Bruyne who hits a rasping volley which is deflected over. Good start!

  6. KICK-OFFpublished at 1 min

    Marseille 0-0 Manchester City

A bit awkward, City's players all take the knee and Marseille just line up and watch them.

We are up and running though.

The Velodrome is definitely on my bucketlist to tick off. What a great stadium. Such a shame, as with [nearly] every game at the moment, that's it's sterile and empty for this one.

So, so, much football at the moment.

    Here they come!

  11. 'Ridiculous number of games'published at 19:56 Greenwich Mean Time 27 October 2020

    Liverpool v Midtjylland (20:00 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to BT Sport: "These boys have nine or 10 games in the space of four weeks which is absolutely ridiculous. We have to try and deal with it.

"We have players available and we have to play games. It's Tuesday night, it's the Champions League and we are ready."

On the defensive pairing of Joe Gomez and Fabinho: "They're getting better and better. They don't have time to train so actually have to use games to get used to one another."

    Simple but effective.

LFC must watch the runs of Andersson and try to test Andersen- a solid shot stopper- while Anderson is certainly a threat coming off the bench.

    Lokomotiv Moscow 1-2 Bayern Munich

Holders Bayern win to make it two from two, and 13 in a row in the Champions League, but that was hard work.

  15. Postpublished at 19:47 Greenwich Mean Time 27 October 2020

    Lokomotiv Moscow 1-2 Bayern Munich

Bayern are rather holding on a bit as well. Lokomotiv have been excellent in the second half.

  16. Shakhtar holding onpublished at 19:47 Greenwich Mean Time 27 October 2020

    Shakhtar Donetsk 0-0 Inter Milan

Five minutes left in Kyiv and Inter Milan have still not found a way through a resilient Shakhtar Donetsk side.

The Ukrainians will stay top of Group B if it stays like this with four points from two tough games after beating Real Madrid 3-2 last week.

Inter have hit the bar twice and Shakhtar goalkeeper Anatolii Trubin has made a number of fine saves.

Two mortal enemies merge to become more powerful than ever before.

That may sound like the plot of a superhero movie but this is the story of FC Midtjylland, Liverpool's Champions League opponents on Tuesday.

The Danish side didn't even exist a little more than two decades ago but have risen to become domestic champions on three occasions and are now looking to upset the odds in Europe.

Nicknamed 'Moneyball FC', Midtjylland have been using statistics and data analysis to significant effect, bringing in underrated players on the cheap, unleashing their talent, and selling them on for a large profit

    Lokomotiv Moscow 1-2 Bayern Munich

Another sound I've really missed, a raucous home crowd silenced instantly by an away goal.

Joshua Kimmich turns, 20 yards out, and just cushions a half-volley into the bottom corner to put Bayern back in front.

Ben Kellow: Liverpool not taking this Danish side seriously, I fancy an upset.

Daniel Quirk: You kind of feel that Pep needs make his mark in the champions league with City this season. Just sayin...

Jack Rozycki: Only Divock Origi can get the 10000th goal for Liverpool tonight surely? It has his name all over it.

    Lokomotiv Moscow 1-1 Bayern Munich

It's a really good game now as we enter the final 15 - Lokomotiv should be ahead as Ze Luis gets in behind a very high Bayern line but shoots when he should have squared it. A great chance!
