Prof Fluff: surely now Arteta must go. Such a poor league campaign, lack luster in all areas on the pitch this team, Artetas team is simply not good enough. Time for someone who knows why they're doing. Eh Unai

Joe Wedgwood: To think Arsenal had the sheer audacity to think they had a place amongst Europe's elite. Embarrassing. And sadly, not surprising.

FT: Arsenal 0-0 Villarreal (Agg 1-2)

    Lee Dixon
Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

You look at the two legs and the performances from Arsenal in both game sand they didn't do enough. In the first game they could've been two or three down and tonight the first 45 minutes, they wasted it.

No intensity, fair play to Villarreal they deserved it but how many opportunities do you get to play in a final of a European Cup of any description, these players might never ever get a chance to do that again and they've given it up, far too easily.

    Huge, huge disappointment for Arsenal.

They were just one goal away from the final, they hit the post twice, but ultimately Mikel Arteta's side have fallen short.
