Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had that chance but other than that he's not really been in the game, he's not put the Villarreal defence under enough pressure. They've started the second half much better but Arsenal are running out of time.

Pablo Mari and Martin Odegaard are both down following separate incidents.

Mari seems to be the player in more trouble and is getting some treatment after landing awkwardly on his ankle. It looks like he's rolled it.

It appears Gabriel Martinelli will soon be introduced too.

Yeremi Pino, who replaced the injured Samuel Chukwueze in the first half, forces Bernd Leno into action with a low shot.

You can imagine the tension if there was a full house at the Emirates this evening. It's on a knife edge.

There's been as much action in 10 minutes in the second half as there was in the whole of the first.

Villarreal are beginning to find their feet again but Arsenal are managing to keep the Spanish side at arms length, for now...

A nervous moment in the Arsenal defence.

Gerard Moreno, the man Villarreal would want the chance to fall to, shoots after a quick break but Bernd Leno gets down low to his right to stop it. A warning.

Nicolas Pepe and Mario Gaspar knock heads in the air and there's a break in play as both players are checked over.

Gaspar looks to have come off slightly worse, but both seem to be fine to continue.

Thumbs up if David de Gea should play in the final. Down if Dean Henderson gets the nod in Poland.

De Gea has certainly given his manager plenty to think about.

He's down to make another save to frustrate Lorenzo Pellegrini.

It should be 1-0!

A cross from the right drops to Emile Smith Rowe at the back post, he takes a nice touch to bring it under control before picking his spot - but his dinked attempt goes just over the bar. Arsenal are knocking on the door now.

A flick by Harry Maguire hits his arm and Roma want a penalty.

The referee is not interested.

This is much better from Arsenal already. There's much more urgency in their play and it's taken Villarreal a couple of minutes to wake up at the start of the second half.

Almost the ideal start to the second half for Arsenal!

OFF: Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw.

How much longer can Arsenal afford to leave it before really going after the one goal they need?

Should Villarreal score, of course, Arsenal would require three goals to prevent the game going to extra-time and penalties. It's a rather tough balancing act.

This game is in the bag and United have made a couple of changes.

Someone on that pitch needs to get some life into them because at the moment they're going through the motions, they're not putting Villarreal under enough pressure.

Unai Emery will be delighted with that first-half, they looked solid at the back, midfield got a press on, there were six up front at one point on the break. One goal on either side changes everything - if Arsenal get it it might lead to a bit more intensity in the game and they can get themselves ack in it, if Villarreal get it Arsenal are in big trouble.
