United are starting to enjoy some prolonged possession after weathering Roma's fast start. A first serious attack as Edinson Cavani feeds Bruno Fernandes who tries to set up Mason Greenwood but he's over-cooked it.

Roma 0-0 Man Utd (Agg: 2-6)

There's an intent with Villarreal's game - they look like they're going to force the issue, which is surprising. They've got four men along the front at the moment, they look like they're going for it.

    Arsenal 0-0 Villarreal (Agg: 1-2)

Some good work in midfield by Nicolas Pepe, who seems to love this competition, sets up an Arsenal attack but Villarreal are back in numbers.

It already feels tense. You sense Arsenal really must get the first goal tonight if they're going to make it to Gdansk.

  6. United need to avoid an early goalpublished at 20:08 British Summer Time 6 May 2021

Roma 0-0 Man Utd (Agg: 2-6)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

With no fans at tonight's game, Manchester United are spared a vocal home crowd to cheer them on.

Nevertheless, they can do without conceding the early goal that would give Roma some encouragement.

David de Gea just made a fabulous save but Ole Gunner Solskjaer will be worried about the space Henrikh Mkhitaryan was in at the far-post when he headed into the side netting.

    A good spell for Villarreal.

Francis Coquelin plays the ball wide to skipper Mario Gaspar, who tees up Samuel Chukwueze for a thunderous drive that forces Bernd Leno into action.

The German keeper is alert and meets the shot with a strong hand.

  9. CLOSE!published at 20:06 British Summer Time 6 May 2021

    Two huge chances for Roma.

A free-kick is whipped into the danger area and David de Gea makes an instinctive one-handed save from close range.

Was there a handball in the build-up?

Moments later Henrikh Mkhitaryan heads into the side netting.

  10. Postpublished at 20:05 British Summer Time 6 May 2021

    Arsenal 0-0 Villarreal (Agg: 1-2)

It looks like Bukayo Saka is playing out on the right for Arsenal, and Nicolas Pepe is on the left.

Kieran Tierney's late inclusion means it's definitely a back four for the Gunners, with Thomas Partey guarding them..

An early Roma raid deep into United territory by Edin Dzeko but it's easily dealt with. The Italians are enjoying all the early possession. They need an early goal.

On Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: "He is feeling much better, he had a good game against Newcastle and he starts again."

On where Bukayo Saka will play: "Bukayo is playing as always in the front line."

On the fans outside Emirates Stadium: "It was great to see them there supporting the team. We haven't seen them in a while and to have them closer to us is great.

"We have to have the perfect game against a very good team. We are alive today and it is in our hands."

  17. 'It means nothing to me'published at 19:55 British Summer Time 6 May 2021

    Arsenal v Villarreal (Agg: 1-2, 20:00 BST)

    Lee Dixon
Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Team spirit is not about high-fiving and huddling before the game, that's a load of rubbish.

Team spirit is the ability to be able to tell someone they're not doing their job and for that player to accept that criticism and listen and think 'you know what he might be right'.

It's the ability to shout at each other, tell each other off and it doesn't matter how you do it, it's about getting the best out of each other for 90 minutes.

This Arsenal team seem to get on great, but it means nothing to me - I want to see when players make mistakes they are told off or the other players think 'that player needs an arm round him'.

  19. In-form Villarrealpublished at 19:52 British Summer Time 6 May 2021

    Arsenal v Villarreal (Agg: 1-2, 20:00 BST)

Villarreal are unbeaten in 13 games in European competition and have won each of their last nine.

The Spanish side have progressed from 15 of their 16 ties in Europe when winning the first leg. The only exception in that run arrived in the 2015-16 Europa League semi-final against Liverpool.

  20. Man Utd's big advantagepublished at 19:51 British Summer Time 6 May 2021

Roma v Man Utd (Agg: 2-6, 20:00 BST)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

Roma need to beat Manchester United 4-0 or 5-1 to get through to the final.

United have only lost three European games in their entire history by a score that would see them knocked out tonight, the last of those in 1994 when they were beaten 4-0 by Barcelona in a Champions League group game at the Nou Camp. (Pep Guardiola played that night by the way).

In fact, the last time United lost the second leg of a European tie having won the first leg was in the Europa League in 2012 when they won 2-0 at Ajax, then lost 2-1 at Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can feel pretty confident about reaching his first final as United boss.
