This will be how the league is now this season. It’ll probably be another Leicester City type winner. Players just take far more risks without fans in a good and bad way.

    Dan in London

Walcott is playing like his 20 year old self, the difference is a manager who completely gets him and knows how to develop him.

Josh: Another assist for Theo Walcott; credit where it is due, seems to be recapturing his form at Southampton so far this season after an anonymous last few seasons or so at this level. Sensible addition to the Southampton squad.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 28 mins

Much better from Newcastle. They're starting to get a grip on the possession, finding Allan Saint-Maximin who's picking it up in the pockets and he's direct, drives it, so quick, so powerful and so quick with his feet technically as well. They need to get him on the ball more because you can not stop him.

Newcastle have settled now. They have slowed the game down and Southampton have dropped back into shape.

There's a clear identity at Southampton - it's so good, their recruitment, the philosophy and how they've backed the players and the manager. Che Adams has fit in so well and the manager is doing so well.
