  1. 'There is a big demand on us'published at 17:34 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2020

    FT: Man City 5-0 Burnley

    Burnley

More from Burnley manager Sean Dyche: "It's been tough here the last few times we have been without doubt. The media have been on about it and I don't know whether they planted it in the players' minds!

"The first goal is really poor. The gameplan is almost dismantled by our own doing. 2-0 down here is really difficult as they grow with confidence and they are a top team without a doubt. We know the stats and facts of playing these sides.

"We know our market but you are still looking for a performance. We didn't get that in the first half. You can't let these get their noses in front. All the fixtures are tough. It's not a simple place to be in the Premier League. There is a big demand on us. Injuries are really hurting us. We are missing players. Josh Benson I thought was terrific and has stuck at it all day. A big occasion for a young man and he has done well.

"Bailey Peacock-Farrell is a good keeper, who is developing all the time and he is learning. Part of being a keeper so a tough day for him too. Nick Pope should be fine. Funny thing about concussion is that you can't play football but you can drive in and out of the training ground on your own. Should be fine to play [the next game].

"There is a lot of noise about who is allowed fans and not but I think it's a positive thing for football."

  2. 'Hopefully it is a good decision'published at 17:34 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2020

    FT: Man City 5-0 Burnley

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola: "It was important to come back with a victory in the Premier League. One more game.

"We play a lot of games so to play 90 minutes and maintain a good level is not easy but there are always things to improve on.

"It's important for our people to score goals and it is a chance for them to keep playing."

On Sergio Aguero: "Sometimes it is just a reaction on the knee. It is swollen. Hopefully tomorrow he can come back to training.

"Now it is three days then another one. We have to travel and prepare fully."

On the return of fans: "If the politicians and scientists decide that is allowed, hopefully it is a good decision."

Leeds with an early chance. Raphinha is in on goal after a chest-off from Patrick Bamford. He pokes the ball past the advancing Jordan Pickford, but not with enough power to threaten the goal.

And we are under way at Goodison. We've had two eventful games already. I don't see why we should halt the fun now.

Carlo Ancelotti versus Marcelo Bielsa pits two heavyweight managers against each other for the first time, both with Diego Maradona connections.

Ancelotti played against the Argentine legend while he was a midfielder at AC Milan, and as a former Napoli manager knows what Maradona meant to the Italian city. On Friday, the Everton boss described him "an icon".

Leeds manager Bielsa might not have won the same amount of silverware as Ancelotti, but, as an Argentine himself, mourned Maradona's loss this week, by calling him "immeasurable, an idol, an artist."

While almost no-one can reach the level of Maradona, both managers have at least committed to attacking football throughout their careers and with 66 league goals between the teams this season, both scored and conceded, hopefully there should be more to come today.

Leeds are probably still wondering how they didn't beat Arsenal on Sunday - and so am I.

Marcelo Bielsa's side will be just as attack-minded here because they don't change, home or away. They approach every game like it is Custer's Last Stand, , externaland it is all or nothing for them.

Everton got the win they needed at Craven Cottage last weekend but they were hanging on a bit at the end, and I didn't see anything that makes me think they will keep Leeds out.

    Prediction: 1-1

Leeds are sporting their maroon third kit this evening. Not one for the purists, especially those at a club who have a bit of an issue with anything even bordering on red.

Steve Watson once scored a hat-trick in this fixture. Seriously. We also had a 4-4 in 1999.

Everton are actually unbeaten in 13 top-flight home games against Leeds since a 3-2 loss in August 1990 (W6, D7). There has been just one away triumph in the previous 24 Premier League encounters, Everton's 1-0 victory in November 2002. Wayne Rooney scored the winner.

The most recent meeting? That'd be Leeds' League Cup third-round victory at Elland Road in September 2012.

    Everton v Leeds (17:30 GMT)

    Alistair Magowan
    BBC Sport at Goodison Park

It's a mizzly evening on Merseyside, but also a poignant one as Everton host Leeds in what is set to be the last home game without fans.

Goodison Park is a marvellous stadium when it is full and thriving, so the emptiness has been strange, but as manager Carlo Ancelotti said on Friday the move to allow fans back in is "good news for everyone" especially if others regions of the country can follow suit.

That feeling of warming up inside after freezing to the bone for 90 minutes will never have felt so good for lucky few against Chelsea on 12 December.

It is apt that Everton host Leeds this week, it coming close to the anniversary of Gary Speed's death in 2011, aged just 42.

Speed represented both Leeds and Everton with such distinction, coming through the academy of the former before moving to the latter.

He is remembered very fondly at both clubs.

Talk before this game was about how Everton would deal with the loss of both of their first-choice full-backs to injury.

Carlo Ancelotti's solution is to play three at the back, with what appears to be Alex Iwobi and Tom Davies as wing-backs. Should be interesting.

Right, well after that utterly one-sided affair, we should in theory have something a bit more even next up. One of those traditional top-flight fixtures from English football past, now resurrected for 2020.

Abhi Redy: You may say it’s Burnley. But these are the kind of matches City were struggling to score in and win. Order restored. Can’t believe how good John Stones can be - particularly with the long-ball situations.

This year's title is a two-horse race in the new old-fashioned way - current leaders (and champions) versus Pep's resurgent Manchester Blues.
