Kevin de Bruyne is desperate to add a goal to his two assists. He has a dig from distance and although Bailey Peacock-Farrell dives full-stretch, it sails wide.

Burnley counter and Dwight McNeil has a decent attempt. Burnley need those to go in.

    Man City 3-0 Burnley

That was Burnley's first shot of the game. It was poor but at least they have registered an attempt.

What has Sean Dyche said to his players? They're a lot more lively although they couldn't be any worse than they were in the first 45.

Within seconds of the re-start Burnley have their first 'shot'. Wide by Ashley Barnes. Very wide.

It’s difficult for Burnley, no matter what they try. Do you want to get out of here with a 3-0, or try and make a game of it and maybe lose 7-0 or 8-0?

If you offered them 5-0 now, I think they’d take it. City look very menacing. We’re still in the first half and Sean Dyche’s team are struggling to get any real play.

  9. City's scoring problems have disappearedpublished at 16:01 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2020

Prior to today's game, Manchester City had only scored 10 times in the Premier League this season.

Manager Pep Guardiola has been adamant there is no major issue.

Others disagreed. It seems Pep might have been right.

This is the first time City have scored three in first half of a game since Liverpool at home on 2 July.

A reminder that Manchester City have Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden on the bench.

There's going to be more goals, aren't there?

Peter Collins: People saying that referees need to be interviewed after the games to explain decisions, what are you expecting them to say? The referee will say he saw a foul so he awarded a penalty. It would be the most boring interview ever!

  12. 'I thought we deserved it'published at 15:59 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2020

    FT: Brighton 1-1 Liverpool

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Graham Potter, speaking to BT Sport: "Performance-wise I thought we were really good. We were playing against a top opponent. We played with personality, intensity. The margins went in our favour today, which can happen at times, but that’s down to our performance.

"We’ve had a lot of drama in stoppage time this season, which is crazy.

"Apart from the first five or 10 minutes we asked a real question and with a bit of luck we could have taken the lead. I thought we sustained that quite well. In the second half we gradually came back into it and put such a lot into the game. I thought we deserved it.

"Football is played by human beings, so there are going to be some mistakes. I think you have to accept VAR is here, try and support it and get on with it as best you can."

  13. 'Wednesday to Saturday at 12:30 very dangerous'published at 15:56 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2020

    FT: Brighton 1-1 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, speaking to BT Sport: "I don’t know how often I have to say it. You picked the 12:30. You picked us at 12:30. These are difficult moments. If you play at 15:00 or 17:30 it’s exactly the same. I’m not having a go at the broadcasters, I’m just saying how it is.

"Wednesday to Saturday at 12:30 is very dangerous for the players. When we had the talk between the managers – a week ago now, I think – it was 15-5 or 16-4 in favour for five subs. Since then, nothing’s happened.

"Chris Wilder says constantly that I'm selfish. Things he’s saying shows that he’s selfish. We now have three subs and they have one point, if I’m right, so there’s no advantage or disadvantage. Today, if we had five subs, I take off Robbo and bring on Tsimikas. Not to make our game better, just to save him. It’s not about changing tactics and systems, it’s just to save the best.

"It’s not only my players who have that problem. I only go for the broadcasters with the Wednesday to Saturday at 12:30. I wanted to stop doing it because it doesn’t help. It’s a bigger problem this season, because of the short pre-season and things like this. We have this slot three times. Look who else had this slot three times? No-one."

Yias: Time for refs to be interviewed about their decisions after games. Managers are put on the spot five mins after a game for their reaction. Refs need to explain. If you touch someone in the box it doesn't make it a penalty.

Garéte Baréte: If the ref had given the penalty, I don’t think you’d see many Reds arguing. But it’s a 50/50 decision, VAR then calls it a clear and obvious error.

Cameron: Some people saying Liverpool were lucky with VAR last season. I think we might need to pull out the old VAR for and against table from last season!

  15. 'This world is ruled by other people'published at 15:54 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2020

    FT: Brighton 1-1 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to Match of the Day:

On losing James Milner: "I don't know any more about it. I checked him in the dressing room then we will make a scan. The opponent lost two with muscle injuries. There is no other day, I know that. 12.30 is a massive challenge for us. It's a massive challenge for the teams that play on Wednesday night but with the performance I am happy to be honest.

"I expect a lot from the boys but I didn't expect us to dominate Brighton like we did. They have clear passing but don't always finish their situations off and they had a few chances. We didn't avoid the pass in behind or drop at the right moment but from that point on, the boys did really well. I am happy with the performance but not so much the result."

On VAR/ruled out goals: "We are used to our armpits being offside. If it was a toe today that is an easy decision obviously. The two penalties, I didn't see the first and the second we can all see. If there is contact and he decides it's enough... Usually if the players in the other team says 'naa, that's not a penalty'. But it was. So 1-1.

"You cannot imagine how many things are hard to take in the moment. The only thing we have to do is deal with it, recover, prepare again and go. Deal with it, recover, prepare again and go. I have no problem with that. From time-to-time I try to mention a few things that are a problem but not now because I have done it already. I have obviously said enough to fall into that trap and now he has the headlines he wanted. This world is ruled by other people. They can decide that all of don't need five subs.

"We had a meeting and in that meeting everybody had to speak. Chris [Wilder] was clear that it was not helpful for Sheffield United. Fifteen others at least said it had to change. They said it makes sense. If that happens in January for example, it could be too late. But we deal with it, recover and prepare again."

Right. Let's gets some more reaction from the early kick-off after Brighton rescued a point against Liverpool after a late penalty.

Fair to say Jurgen Klopp made some interesting comments after the game.

It’s unbelievable play from Kevin de Bruyne. He just cushions it into the path of Benjamin Mendy. He just sees passes that nobody else seems to see.

The finish was exquisite as well. This is the most relaxed I’ve seen Man City in attack. They seem to be back to their fluid best. They haven’t played with their shackles off like this for quite a while.
