    Man City 3-0 Burnley

That's fantastic. Burnley have got a massive problam as they are getting too tight, too close and leaving too much space

Kevin de Bruyne has worked that out and he has played a great ball in to Benjamin Mendy, that goal was all about the delivery.

It's 3-0 and this is a very, very long afternoon for Burnley now.

It came after the best spell of the game for Burnley - you could see their spirits were lifting just a little bit and they've been deflated again.

    Benjamin Mendy

Who knew Benjamin Mendy could finish like that?

What a wonderful goal. What a wonderful assist. What a wonderful build-up.

The move starts with Ederson playing it out from the back and ends with Kevin de Bruyne providing a lovely cross for Mendy to hammer into the net on the volley from an angle.

    Superb stuff by City.

    Man City 2-0 Burnley

A rare spell of Burnley possession inside Manchester City's half. Josh Benson, Charlie Taylor and Dwight McNeil are all involved.

Ederson, however, has yet to make a save.

If you're Gabriel Jesus, you're desperate to get a goal now, with Sergio Aguero out.

There is no way that any players can cruise through. Riyad Mahrez can't as Raheem Sterling is sitting on the bench.

    Burnley: No attempts. Getting battered.

  8. Can I play you every week?published at 31 mins

    Man City 2-0 Burnley

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

Riyad Mahrez had scored one goal in 12 Manchester City appearances this season before today. He finished last term with two in 11.

The last time he scored twice was in the corresponding fixture last season.

Mahrez must like Burnley. I suspect the feeling is not mutual.

JavelBleach: Burnley in a four-way fight to be first relegated. Dreadful!

David Ljunggren: If Burnley are defending this badly at the start of the game, heaven knows what will happen when they start to tire. This could get very ugly.

Dani Knox: Who needs VAR with eagle-eyed assistant referees like that?!

Another 5-0 thrashing? Burnley have been here before. They need to get a grip but City are rampant.

    Man City 2-0 Burnley

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on Final Score

City are comfortable. Burnley are playing all of their attacking players, but Man City peg you back.

It’s up to Burnley to try and force their way out, get into crossing positions and get set-pieces for one of those attacking players to get on the end of.

The ball is in the back of the Burnley net for a third time.

This time it's ruled out for an offside flag after Ilkay Gundogan heads against Ferran Torres before the ball loops into the net in-off the post.

A sigh of relief for Burnley who are under serious pressure.

You won't see many goals like that these days as it comes from Kyle Walker's long throw.

Burnley have switched off ...if they just keep on being alert...but City just waited for them to switch off.

That is an absolutely beautiful finish.

It goes to 2-0 and the proverbial mountain is now staring Burnley in the face.

Mahrez will be thinking of the hat-trick.

    Outstanding from Riyad Mahrez!

A lapse in concentration in the visitors defence but Mahrez looks to be going away from goal before finding the right angle and firing past Bailey Peaccok-Farrell.

Lovely stuff. A terrific solo goal.

Some lovely one-touch stuff from Manchester City.

That's been missing for part of this season but they're turning on the style after taking an early lead.

Mahrez, by the way, now has his 100th goal involvement in the Premier League (59 goals, 41 assists).

  17. 'City mean business'published at 17 mins

    Man City 1-0 Burnley

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on Final Score

City look like they mean business, they look really menacing. That was all about Kevin de Bruyne’s awareness. He showed real awareness of what’s around him.

Burnley have lost 15-0 in their last three visits to the Etihad. They must be thinking "here we go again".

    Man City 1-0 Burnley

Kevin de Bruyne tries to find Ferran Torres inside the penalty area but Burnley just about scramble it clear.

The Clarets are trying to get a foot-hold in this. Dwight McNeil has shown a couple of decent touches but Ederson has yet to be troubled.

Burnley gave the ball away and you get punished by quality players when you do that.

We spoke about Man City being more clinical - there was nothing wrong with that there. That was brilliant.

Burnley are trying to compose themselves after a nightmare start.

Sean Dyche's final instructions before this will have been: "Don't concede early."
