Man City v Burnley (15:00 GMT)

It must feel pretty alien for City to be kicking-off at 3pm on a Saturday.

It's the first time that's happened to Pep Guardiola's side this season after a load of 17:30 and 12:30 games.

Will it inspire them to become free-scoring again after just 10 goals in eight Premier League games?

Thanks Phil! That was some ending.

Brighton are now just two points behind Manchester City, who start against Burnley FOURTEENTH in the table.

Right, I'm off for a break. I'll leave you in the capable hands of Neil Johnston for the Man City v Burnley game.

All I'll say is that it would be worth your time waiting to hear the comments from Jurgen Klopp. They're coming up soon.

  4. 'I just want to play football as normal'published at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2020

    FT: Brighton 1-1 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson to Match of the Day: "The first half there were one or two things we could improve on. We maybe should have scored the second. Overall we have to be happy with the performance.

"The players have started a month later and playing all the competitions. It's no coincidence there are a lot of injuries. It is hard but I don't think it's going to change. You just have to get on with it. It is difficult. Just have to keep going.

"We have had a lot of injuries but a lot of teams have. You have to deal with it as best you can. We can talk about it now and off the field but when we cross the white line we give it everything. Unfortunately there are more injuries than normal.

On VAR decisions: "I can't really speak about it because I'll get myself in trouble. If they're offside, you do the line thing, then what can you do? The third one, I don't know, it's not a penalty. You can think I'm biased but if you ask four or five or their lads they will say the same thing. They said it walking off the pitch. You feel as though there are a lot of decisions that go against you but that decision for me today is baffling.

Would you rather scrap VAR? "I don't want to speak for anybody else but in my opinion I would. I just want to play football as normal. I saw Kevin de Bruyne saying in an interview they have changed so many rules we don't know what they are anymore. That for me is a big problem. We are talking about instances all the time and not the football. In my opinion I would rather play without it, yeah."

Here we go..fickle Liverpool fans whinging. They drop points again, so there must be a FA conspiracy. More like a team fragmenting under pressure..

    Jeff, London

Can anyone honestly say they enjoy the games more with VAR? If the over whelming majority think it's ruining the game how do we ditch it.

    Dave

Klopp needs to call this what is, bias against Liverpool. Plain and simple simple.

  6. 'The result is an error'published at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2020

    FT: Brighton 1-1 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, speaking to BT Sport: "It was ours. It should be three points, in my opinion. I’ve seen the replay. Who would be happy? It’s not a pen. It feels like we’re standing here every week and discussing incidents. I don’t want to get into trouble, but for me it’s not a penalty.

"Danny Welbeck said to me it wasn’t a penalty. There were four or five of them who felt it wasn’t a penalty. To overturn it, it has to be clear and obvious. Is that a clear and obvious penalty, to go to the screen and overturn it. Obviously the referees know better than us, but I thought the lads were brilliant today and deserve the three points.

"In the first half there were things we could improve on, in the second half we did that. We had a couple of goals ruled off for offside. Overall we’ve got to be positive and take the performance out of it, because the result isn’t anything else but an error in my option. You’d rather get beat by two or three than end up like that. It feels like two points taken away from us."

This penalty/VAR debate is just going to rumble on. Pre-VAR that wouldn't have been a penalty. Chances are, nobody would have even argued it as such. But we don't live in that world anymore.

  8. 'No benefit of doubt with VAR'published at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2020

    FT: Brighton 1-1 Liverpool

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton forward Danny Welbeck speaking to BT Sport: "It was one of those games where we had to try and stick in until the end. We knew we could create some opportunities and exploit their backline. We got a soft penalty but it's one we will take. We got the point and we'll move on now to next week.

"In today's game with the VAR, I got there in front and nicked it around him. He kicked me and then the ball, so... The referee went to see it on the screen and made his decision.

"The gaffer said we would rather go down fighting. Going into this game we knew we could cause problems. They have so much firepower but we wanted some firepower of our own. We could have gone ahead in the game but these things happen.

"They could have gone further ahead with the VAR and offside rules. There's no benefit of doubt in today's game but it's 1-1 and that's how it's ended."

Kevin Irvine: Game we knew and loved is disappearing under a VAR cloud! Can't celebrate goals; honestly losing my love of the sport game by game!

Chris Miles: Not sure why so many complaints about the VAR decisions today. They were all correct.

Montymadman: So the amazing Klopp is now ironically clapping officials when its not his side getting the penalties How ironic!!!

Ar vind: Someone in the footballing hierarchy doesn’t want Liverpool to do well. Ridiculous decision.

Tom Proffitt: Two players went for a touch of the ball. Robertson went for the clearance. Slightly clipped Welbeck's foot when getting ball. Shocking VAR decision.

Khan Karn: Liverpool totally robbed for the 2nd time this season. Shambles of officiating.
