GOAL - Brighton 0-1 Sheffield Unitedpublished at 13:22 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December 2020

    Jayden Bogle (63 mins)

    Massive!

Sheffield United lead with 10 men! Brighton think there's an offside in the build-up but the goal is good.

A cracking break down the left sees Enda Stevens find David McGoldrick peel into space. He has the ability and the composure to wait, and then pick out Jayden Bogle in the area. He has plenty to do but cracks in a left-footed shot that takes a deflection and flies past Robert Sanchez.

Looking forward to the yearly U-turn on what teams 'have to do to stay in the premier league'. Sheffield United have spent 80m this year and look the worst team in prem history.

  3. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 62 mins

    Brighton 0-0 Sheffield United

Well played Aaron Ramsdale! He's had his critics but this looks like a good piece of keeping as he flies out to sweep the ball away from Aaron Connolly.

Brighton fans in that corner want a penalty but it looked like he timed that to perfection.

Brighton then knit together another neat move in the final third, finding space on the right of the box this time but two men in blue rather get in each other's way.

  5. CLOSE!published at 57 mins

    Brighton 0-0 Sheffield United

Well maybe the Sheffield United plan is actually spot on. One ball from David McGoldrick sends Oliver Burke away down the left, he does really well to carry it downfield, wait for support and then tee up Enda Stevens.

The left-back is arriving at full speed and cracks in a rising drive, looks good, just fades past the post...

    That was close!

  6. Castagne returns for Foxes, Bale on Spurs benchpublished at 13:16 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December 2020

Gareth Bale is back on the bench after an illness.

For Leicester, Timothy Castagne returns from a hamstring injury and Jonny Evans is back after serving a one-match suspension.

    Marc Albrighton is also recalled.

    Full team news to follow.

United are just so, so deep. All nine men are with 20 yards of their own goal, feels a really dangerous game. Got to try and stem the tide, quite how I must admit I don't know...

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 54 mins

Chris Wilder acts to try and plug the gaps that are showing up - Rhian Brewster comes off, former Derby defender Jayden Bogle is on.

Another bad day at the office for Brewster.

I don't even think Derby were this bad in that infamous season.... Sheffield United will be lucky to pick up any wins.

    Brighton 0-0 Sheffield United

Lewis Dunk is nearly played into trouble by his goalkeeper Robert Sanchez but he plays out well and Brighton come forwards again.

Solly March is the man in space on this occasion and his powerful shot is blocked away by George Baldock.

  11. CLOSE!published at 48 mins

    Brighton 0-0 Sheffield United

Could be a long second half for the visitors as they are picked apart with ease. Alireza Jahanbakhsh sends in Leandro Trossard into acres of room and he should do better really, dragging a shot wide.

Real nice interplay on the edge of the box as Adam Lallana and Leandro Trossard look to pick the lock, Aaron Connolly gets a shot away but he was offside.

Good news for any live text commentator - Brighton are bringing on Alireza Jahanbakhsh. He's replaced Joel Veltman, who may well have been hurt in the red card incident.

I look forward to Wilder telling us after the game that Lundstram "isn't that type of player". I'm starting to wonder who exactly is??

Paul, but wearing a mask: Despite all of the issues with VAR this season, it's good to see it used properly. The ref makes his on-field decision, takes advantage of a better look, and then has the opportunity to change his mind if appropriate. More of this, and fewer armpit offsides please
