    Brighton 0-0 Sheffield United

Sheffield United have a free-kick, Jack Robinson plays a clever pass to John Fleck but he's easily robbed and Brighton now have a counter, which ends with Adam Lallana hitting a shot wide via a deflection.

That was worryingly easy for the hosts.

    Brighton 0-0 Sheffield United

Brighton with two-thirds of the ball so far, United struggling to get into the game here. George Baldock gives away a second cheap free-kick in the space of about a minute. Send the back three forwards.

    Brighton 0-0 Sheffield United

Brighton now settling into their shape and bossing possession, moving the ball around neatly as is their way. John Lundstram puts in a cracking tackle to win it back but then wastes the turnover with a rushed pass over the top.

Chris Basham then loses the ball in defence, a few jitters in the Blades' lineup today it seems...

From the corner Lewis Dunk rises really well, holds off Chris Basham and loops a header on to the roof of the net.

Maybe, we'll see how he gets on up top today.

Yves Bissouma, possibly the first Brighton player to be linked with Real Madrid, well the first since Bobby Zamora anyway, does well to win a corner. Open enough start to the game.

Marcus: What's baffling about Sheffield United is spending £23.5m on Rhian Brewster and only now playing him, when you've only scored seven goals in 12 games. Surely he should have been in the starting eleven from the moment he signed?

Crowd noises you've missed - a big WAHHHAYYYYY as Aaron Ramsdale slips while taking a goal kick and ends up on his back.

    Lovely.

Neal Maupay lands awkwardly and looks in a bit of strife - dead leg? Looks like it. He's going to try and run it off.

    Brighton 0-0 Sheffield United

Nothing comes from the set-piece and here come United with their first spell of possession. They work it well down the right but John Lundstram overhits a pass which would have sent George Baldock away.

A really heartening, authentic, crowd roar as Neal Maupay and Leandro Trossard link up well and win a corner for Brighton.

I tend to think you don't really know how good your goalkeeper is/was until they leave and you get someone else in.

Aaron Ramsdale has not had a great time of it.

Ryan Howard: I suspected that Dean Henderson leaving would cause problems for Sheffield Utd this season. There were many times where they scraped 1-0 wins or 0-0 draws because their defence was so solid. Sacking Wilder would be pointless though, as they're basically already relegated.

That's fourth tier as in League Two, not fourth tier as in Christmas Day = a Pot Noodle.

It could all get confusing this.

Sheffield United have equalled the worst record by a club after 13 matches of a league season in the top four tiers of English football: also W0-D1-L12 by Newport County in the 1970-71 fourth tier.

That Newport team lost 3-0 at Southend United in its 14th league fixture of that campaign, and still holds the league record for longest winless run from the beginning of a season (25).

Here we go then. It's now a glorious-looking day down by the A27 as a lady wearing a massive Seagull hat takes her seat.

Surely a Sheffield United defeat today would really...nope, I'm not going to say it.

IF away fans were heading to Brighton for this game what time would you set off?

Brighton's big problem is still scoring goals, but their levels never seem to change too much. They never seem to play that badly, whatever the result.

Sheffield United have bigger issues. I've said it before this season, but they look like a Championship team in the Premier League and it is hard to see what their manager Chris Wilder can do about that.

    Prediction: 2-0

Some rare good news for Blades fans - if you can call largely meaningless past records good news - Sheffield United are unbeaten in their last five away league games against Brighton (W3 D2), since a 0-2 loss in the second tier in May 1987.

The Blades won this exact fixture 1-0 last season.
