Long way back for Spurs now. Although you could have said that after Liverpool's second.

No Harry Kane out there either.

That is poor defending from Joe Rodon - defensively this game Tottenham haven't been good enough. Going forward they're excellent but defensively, they just haven't been good enough.

    Sadio Mane (64 mins)

Can't see this one getting chalked off!

It's a lovely delivery from Trent Alexander-Arnold, winding a cross from deep into the path of Sadio Mane, who is arriving in the penalty area.

It takes a touch off Joe Rodon and falls nicely for the Liverpool man to hammer into the roof of the net.

Liverpool get the third they've been chasing.

    Phil McNulty

Spurs manager Jose Mourinho is really getting stuck into his team, bellowing instructions - some quite colourful - and his voice echoing around this cavernous stadium.

Liverpool still looking much more dangerous.

Rory Lemmon: Thought VAR wasn’t supposed to interfere with handball unless it was the player who scored or assisted? Once again a lack of clarity

Dier had chunks of Firmino's shirt, and it hits Dier's arm first, tough to disallow the goal for that

  8. 'Tottenham can't afford to lose Kane'published at 21:20 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2021

    Tottenham 1-2 Liverpool

    Stephen Kelly
Former Tottenham defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Harry Kane has gone over on that ankle twice now, he hits the pass to Son just before that and he kind of winces as he does it. You just hope it's not going to be ligament damage that will put him out for a long time because he's been absolutely phenomenal this season, his contributions, his passing, goals and assists. He's been the all-round complete forward and unplayable at times. Tottenham just can't afford to lose him.

This is when you want Gareth Bale to step up - they brought him for this reason. You want a player of his stature to come in and be a leader and if Kane is going to be out then you want him to come in and fill those shoes.

    What a finish!

Thiago is back on and immediately involved in the move.

Liverpool break swiftly and Mo Salah pops up on the right of the box, works it on to his left foot and smashes beyond Hugo Lloris.

But did Roberto Firmino handle it in the build-up?

Spurs needed a leader and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg seems to be that - you need someone to have an impact especially with Harry Kane not on the pitch. That's what you need, a big key moment at the right time.
