    Son Heung-min (3 mins)

Harry Kane to Son Heung-min... you've heard this one before.

Wonderful play from Tanguy Ndombele, who finds Kane and he slides a pass through for Son to finish at the near post.

But VAR is having a look...

  2. CLOSE!published at 2 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Liverpool

    Glorious chance for Sadio Mane!

    He has to score, surely.

It's a neat one-two with Mo Salah and Eric Dier can only get a toe on it to put Mane in on goal. But he blazes over.

    Tottenham 0-0 Liverpool

Quick start from Liverpool as Roberto Firmino slips it left to Sadio Mane, but Spurs immediately win it back and Serge Aurier looks to release Son Heung-min on the break.

Probably the template for the next 89 minutes...

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Jurgen Klopp exchanged words with Burnley boss Sean Dyche in the Anfield tunnel during their 1-0 defeat last week, so is the Liverpool boss feeling the pressure?

"There's no doubt - he has to be," former Spurs and England striker Clive Allen told 5 Live Drive.

"The heady heights of last season, the way they were playing, he knows what they are capable of.

"They're way short of that and it seems to be affecting him.

"It will be interesting to see how calm he is at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium."

Kevan Sangster: Losing Fabinho to injury is a big out for #Liverpool, external . Henderson at Centre Half is not what you want against Kane & Son. #Tottenham, external to shade this.

Guy Hide: Not sure Rhys Williams is up to the task but would love to see Klopp start taking a gamble with Nat Phillips at CB - especially when Matip is fit. Fabinho & Henderson both sorely missed in the middle of the park.

  9. 'A draw not a disaster for either side'published at 19:53 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2021

    Lawro's prediction

    Mark Lawrenson's predictions

Liverpool were much better in Sunday's FA Cup tie against Manchester United. Yes, they lost, but Mohamed Salah was back among the goals and there seemed to be more energy about the whole side.

They looked a bit more like their old selves in midfield and attack, and manager Jurgen Klopp will take lots of encouragement from the way they played.

This is another tough game for them, although I would be surprised if it is as open as Sunday's game - Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is hardly going to throw everything at Liverpool, regardless of their poor form.

I do not think a draw would be a disaster for either side but, for Liverpool in particular, it is important they do not lose.

    Prediction: 1-1

  12. Klopp expecting 'another intense game'published at 19:50 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2021

    Tottenham v Liverpool (20:00 GMT)

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, speaking to BT Sport, about how sees tonight's game going compared to last month's win at Anfield: "Another intense game, I'm pretty sure. It looks like Aurier plays defensively in a back five, and offensively in counter attacks.

"It looks like a compact formation and something we need to find a solution for. And also a massive counter attacking threat.

"We conceded a goal on the counter attack and the best way is to keep the ball all the time so they can't counter attack. But that's not possible.

"We played a really good game that night, even though I know Jose saw it differently! That's fine. But the way we saw it we deserved to win but that means nothing tonight."

On Fabinho's injury: "He felt something and we had to take him out. It wasn't a challenge or an intense situation, it just happened."

  15. Mourinho knows Spurs must take chancespublished at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2021

    Tottenham v Liverpool (20:00 GMT)

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho, speaking to BT Sport: "At Anfield we missed chances and against Liverpool, it is not like you have seven, eight, nine or 10 chances to score, you have three or four.

"We missed big chances to win the game. At the same time if you make too many mistakes they punish you.

"We cannot control the direction of matches, you don't know how it will go. Our objective is to win the game, which is also Liverpool's objective.

"They have the potential to do that and we have the potential to do that."

On a possible change of formation: "I will leave it for you to decide after 60 seconds! But in this moment I'm not going to tell you."

On Liverpool's recent run of poor form: "They are an amazing team, great coach, great players, history shows what they did in the last few years, it was amazing.

"They've had a few bad results but everyone has had them in the league this season. That's why the Premier League is the best league."

It's hard to believe the champions have gone four Premier League games without a goal, and boss Jurgen Klopp says his side are "on fire to strike back".

"We want to be the team nobody wants to play against," said Klopp.

"People told us we were the best team in the world. We weren't, but that's not a problem. We could beat the best team in the world and we still can, but we want to prove that on the pitch and we will.

"We are on fire to strike back. The more negative things that are thought about us and said about us, the more we want it.

"The situation is a challenge and a challenge is good, that's fine with me. I'm not at a point in my life where I think everything should be perfect. If something is wrong then we work at it and that's what we're doing.

"We will give our absolute everything this season. It's not about defending the title, it's about winning football games. It was always about this."

Not been the busy January transfer window of old, has it?

And there isn't likely to be a late move for Dele Alli, according to Spurs boss Jose Mourinho.

The out-of-favour midfielder has been linked with a loan move to Paris St Germain - and a reunion with former boss Mauricio Pochettino - after making just four Premier League appearances this season

"I expect (him to be here) and I'm saying that since the beginning of the window. I wasn't expecting anyone to leave or expecting anyone to come," said Mourinho.

"We're almost at the end of the window. I don't believe that anything will happen but it's open still.

"Football is football and the transfer window is open and sometimes unexpected things can happen but I don't expect it."

Alli doesn't feature in the Spurs squad tonight because of a tendon problem.
