Spurs have to start believing they can win these games. Son looks like a different gravy out there. Fancy him for the winner.

Typical clash of styles. Liverpool passing and passing without a shot, Spurs two passes, a sprint, then a shot.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been gesticulating wildly at his players on a couple of occasions. seemingly for standing off Spurs and let them knock the ball about. He has to be pretty satisfied with Liverpool's performance so far, though.

Alisson looks to set Trent Alexander-Arnold away on the break after claiming the corner but the full-back is chopped down by Steven Bergwijn. Cynical. And in the book.

Thiago is the first man in the book for a bit of a lunge on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Think the Liverpool midfielder tried to pull out of that one, but just caught Hojbjerg.

Wonderful reactions from Hugo Lloris to keep out Sadio Mane.

The Liverpool forward got a toe to turn Mo Salah's dinked pass towards goal, but Lloris reacts quickly to get a hand down to it. Great save.

Roberto Firmino finds space on the edge of the box and fires one straight at Hugo Lloris.

Within seconds Son is in on goal again at the other end... the Spurs forward should do better, he sizes up Alisson only to drive a low effort straight at the Liverpool goalkeeper.

    Big chance for the hosts.

Spurs get a chance to put their foot on the ball and take some relief from all that Liverpool possession, before Harry Kane's cross is headed clear.

Son Heung-min then almost wriggles in behind Joel Matip but the Liverpool defender does superbly to pinch it off him inside the area.

When will VAR give advantage to the attacking player? It's becoming a bit of a joke!

    Alan T

If you have a look, Trent's arm is ahead of Son's foot. If the attacker can be offside because of where his finger is, why isn't it the same case for a defender to be keeping an attacker onside with his arm? The offside rule will never make sense.

No shortage of confidence from Liverpool as they knock the ball around in positive fashion - although Sadio Mane will be particularly relieved VAR went in their favour after his awful miss. He looked thoroughly disgusted with himself.

This could be bad news for Jose Mourinho and Tottenham.

Paul Walmsley: I mean...that happened to Liverpool earlier in the season. For me it's not a great decision but I suppose it's "consistent" with previous ones.

John Dunthorne: Interesting line up for Liverpool, after 5 minutes they seem not to be playing anybody in Midfield

Hang about... that's ambitious from Son Heung-min. He tries to catch Alisson off his line from well inside the Spurs half, on the bounce, but drags it a long way wide.

That would have topped his Puskas Award winner.

    Just a heel offside.

Son's early strike is chalked off.

What a start to this game though...
